Guest jacoch Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 Crafty...you can send via mms if you first choose send by email but then choose the mms acount to send instead of a email account. Well, I just noticed it's even different on the Orange beta update. On my phone, I can highlight a picture in Smart Explorer and choose send by email. Then, POutlook is started and ask for the account to be used, exactly the same way it does when you choose New message from the home screen. If I choose MMS, the image is embedded in the MMS correctly. If I choose email, the picture is sent in attachement. I think it's exactly what you want  Does this not work like this on original rom? (sorry, we all have updated our phone here at Binarys).
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 On 1.6.4.10 SPV Classic, if I select "Send by e-mail" it automatically attaches the picture to an e-mail ... I don't have the option to select MMS instead of E-Mail ...

I don't have the option to select MMS instead of E-Mail ... It can't work on SPV 1, because it uses an external application. MMS are not integrated into Pocket Outlook. With those SPV, it will probably be impossible to send via MMS from Smart Explorer, except if the MMS application developers give the necessary information to do it.

You might as well take off the 'email' in the 'send via email' option in smart explorer. Reall 'send' would do instead of 'send via email' as it is more correct! Don't you think jacoch?

Guest scott2eyes Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 I've found a small flaw; when you do a Search for files, it comes up with a list of those it finds, but if you select something from the list, it just goes back to the Search screen, rather than trying to launch the file (which would be very handy.) If I could request one additional function, it would be an option of what program you want to use to open a file- which would be useful for homescreen tweakers who might want to use Internet Explorer to check an XML file, but a Notepad application to edit it. Other than that, I have to say that this is a fantastically useful application; I couldn't get by without it! 8)

I get your request in our wishing list. Regarding the option of opening a file with the program that you want, it can be done using the Open with command. Highlight an item, then go to menu File -> Open -> Open with. By default, IE and WMP are in the list. You can add an application to the list using the menu.

I've just tried that (thanks for the pointer!) and discovered something unusual- when you open up the "open with" and it takes you to another explorer window to find the program you're after, the "new" explorer list apparently hasn't had the fonts fix applied to it.

We know about that  But thanks for the feedback anyway. It has already been fixed and will be available in next beta.
