Guest neilg Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 sorry if these have already been posted but i couldn;t find them in search - at this link: http://mpx.ruttensoft.com/ at the bottom of the page are a load of MPx vidoe clips that look real to me.....
Guest t_wesson Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Hey guys, since we're talking about the MPx, does anyone know what the reception will be like on it? I have the MPx200 and the reception is the worst of any mobile phone I've seen (using Vodafone in Italy, maybe a fluke because I bought the unlocked AT&T version, not sure if it's configured differently for AT&T). My old Motorola timeport and my girlfriend's phone have perfect reception at home, my MPx200 gets no service. I would love to move to the MPx but I can't justify spending the $$$ if I can't use it as a phone out where I live.
Guest Colonel Trouble Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 Hmmm how much should this be sim free in pounds ? (GBP) ...
Guest squall Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 TBH you are looking around £600, based on the xda2 being sold for £585 when it was released on expansys originally - alot :D
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Not the prettiest thing in the world is it?
Guest martin Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 OMG - just spotted this  Hope it's not right [-o< http://www.celluloco.com/products/customer...e=1&tab=reviews
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 That's the OEM SIM free prerelease version. It'll be cheaper on expansys (amazingly).
Guest markgamber Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 $2000!?!?!? That thing better be made of moon rocks and gold! :-D
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 Hope it takes better pictures than this.... http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php...15&pagenumber=5
Guest squall Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 Hope it takes better pictures than this.... http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php...15&pagenumber=5 Those photos are as good quality (or better) than the xda2. what you on about?
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 The top photo is what I am on about. You can't compare the photos taken with a .3 Megapixel XDAII. The MPX is supposed to have a 1.3 Megapixel pixel camera - ie: much much better than an XDAII not "as good as". You may think the top photo is good. I don't
Guest squall Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 in a low light enviroment like that photo obviously is i think thats superb :D and the xda2 camera is fantastic, i dont think the higher res of the mpx will make to much difference to picture quailty. Extra res doesnt mean better pics
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 Extra res doesnt mean better pics We'll agree to disagree about that comment!
Guest kyrkesmith Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 No, I agree with that comment. The quality can be crap, but just really high resolution. That pic on the forums doesn't look like it's at full resolution to me though.
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 26, 2004 Report Posted June 26, 2004 What I mean is, if two pictures are taken in the same conditions at the same time and if one is a much higher res than the other it should be better quality. I was disappointed with the mpx photo from the link above even if it was taken in low light. Quote from the site: "So behold the first published photo of the MpX....in high resolution untouched with a low light, flash used setting...." It will be interesting to see some daylight pics. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest kyrkesmith Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 Even so, a higher resolution picture can actually have lower quality. Sometimes more pixels lead to greater interference. Also, the camera's lens might be worse, or the picture have a slight tint of a certain colour to it. Still, I ain't too impressed with the quality so far. Nevertheless, the picture is only 800x600, and not the 1280x960 it's supposed to be capable of.
Guest monty1 Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Remember this is a preproduction model .On Howards forum he explains that the device is using a prototype engineering ROM . So I dont think we should get too hung up with the quality of the pictures . they may well be better in the final production model
Guest kyrkesmith Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 I seem to remember some comment over there about the video element of the camera not working yet, which implies that the camera driver will be undergoing at least some changes before launch.
Guest B@man Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 Chaps, you may already know this. More news on the MPx suggests that the version to be released will only have 32MB RAM and further suggestions of only 3-4 MB for running software??? :? What's more the decent version won't be out til Jan or Feb of next year  http://www.mpx200.org/modules.php?op=modlo...order=0&thold=0 http://www.mobile9.com/news/2004/05/motoro...ly_32mb_ram.php And to think i was hanging out for this one..... any one know of a good PDA, pleeeaaaze?
