Guest MPXtricky Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Bugs aside, it has to be Rick Dangerous.
Guest beersoft Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 for me the best games are Eclipse - its the most polished game so far and well worth buying Pocket Mini Golf - fun but too easy Slurp - its a nice quick fix Snails - tanks/scorched earth/gorillas/worms/snails it doesn't matter whats its called its a classic Solitaire - its a classic, and like a bellybutton: everyone has one Links - looks very sexy, but its a bit slow Smartanoid - it edged smartpong3 out of my list (just) doom - its doom, nuff said the emulators (clive/gnuboy/picodrive) - hey, im into my old skool games later Owen "if you didn't make it on the list, try harder to make your games more fun"
Guest midnight Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 the word bejewled should be banned for all time, its cloned more than tetris hehe (i actually only think bejewled is any good with mouse control, joystick just feels wrong)

Guest Weslington Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 I like the fact that it's hard :) if you complete the first level once, you do it everytime, and i have a tactic for the second level , just can't defeat the boss :D if it was simple then the game would only last a few days and would be boring... That's ridiculous! It's like saying that you'd rather have a game that has 2 short levels that are crazy hard than a game that has 100 levels that are easier but give you more variety. As far as I'm concerned the spv has a long way to go before becoming a platform for mobile gaming compared to, for instance, the Gameboy Advance. The best SPV game IMO is Solitare as I always seem to go back to it. I have become bored of almost all the others within days, including Eclipse, Snails, Links etc. Toki Tori was a good laugh while it lasted tho....

If the spv had a decent joypad suddenly controls would be vastly improved. But that wont happen for a while cos the spv is a jack of all trades, not a dedicated gaming device, and that goes back to the original question... What is the best SPV game? (NOT what is the best handheld game)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 The best SPV game IMO is Solitare :) now that's funny

(NOT what is the best handheld game) As per my post: "The best SPV game IMO is Solitare as I always seem to go back to it." I totally agree with your coments in that the spv is not designed for gaming. However I think that games designers should bear this in mind when creating games for the platform. Why neglect half the windows mobile market when a game relies on diagonals? Toki Tori is a prime example of a game that works well on all Windows Smartphones....and Solitare...
Guest midnight Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 errr, if you are talking about eclipse, that doesnt rely on diagonals, i can get to level 6 without using em, and our next game Kumite is taking VERY carefull consideration of no diagonals (especially as one of the features is bluetooth multiplayer gaming which is only available on e200's so far), of course, i could argue, HTC made a HUGE mistake making the e200 only 4 way, as all other phones are 8 way (err, except mpx200 which has some keypad conflicts) :)
Guest Weslington Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 I wasn't refering only to Eclipse (think stuntman) but it is a prime example in this case of a game bein not as playable because of the cack e200 joypad. I am massively looking forward to Kumite and am intrugued how you will implement the control system. I trust you have an extensive list of testers? If not I would gladly lend a hand  Weslington wrote: The best SPV game IMO is Solitare now that's funny What's wrong with solitare?
Guest Jayenkai Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 I enjoy Solitaire, too.. But mostly because it's one of very few games that doesn't go nuts when the Psycho Swirly Circle of Doom pops up..
Guest Disco Stu Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 The game I'm probably most addicted to is Vieka's Freecell. Astraware's new Seven Seas is a funky variation on the Mummy Maze theme. If you're as crap as me, Dougie Lampkin is hilarious ! Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest skaramanga Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Just bought Eclipse there. Its excellent, very well presented. Can't get very far on it yet, but I suppose thats to be expected!! :? Wouldn't mind getting snails, cos I love Worms 2 on the PC, is it very like Worms?
