Guest Skilty Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Can anyone help? I've put the Picodrive.exe in Storage cardProgram FilesGames(new folder) Picodrive I've also renamed the rom "s.bin" and put that in the same directory. When i open Smart Explorer and open picodrive it says "About to EmulateInit from LoadRom in FrameWindow" then "EmulateInit() 1 - Null file handle..." then i get nothing! if anyone can help it'd be much appreciated.
Guest maxh2003 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 New version available - the functionality is unchanged but it incorporates Dave's latest source code, which he says gives 30% better performance on PocketPC. It was running well on my E200 before so I can't really say if it's faster. Let me know what you guys think. Download from http://www.gamesforsmartphones.co.uk/downloads.shtml .

Guest agent.m Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 doesnt seem much different...........take that back. sonic is faster. :D on spv
Guest Sv1000 Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Some Roms (European Roms ?) says that is make for pal system (for european) and doesn't start. It is possibly to kill this "protection" ? Picodrive it's a marvellous "game", good job ! :D Seb = = = o>°o

Rainbow Islands does run particularly well - though the score is messed up, it's an all-time classic  The border is transparent unlike Muff's version which has a black border, any chance of fixing this? I also received a soft key lockup after using it? Keep it up though!

Posted from my SmartPhone! Not personally as i aint got that far  but Midnight has had the same problem
Guest Pondrew Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I wouldn't be surprised if there are differences between Smartphone 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003. Maybe even between SPV E100 & MPX200.

EDIT - MPX200, smartphone 2002

Guest maxh2003 Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 change the way the screen is view from side to uprightComing fairly soon... exit button 4 is already mapped to exit easier controls, option to edit in the menuComing, but probably not so soon sound? Only if Dave decides to add it to his PocketPC version. It's not something I can code. and a way of overiding the protection to get more games working. me want pga tour golf!Again, probably only if Dave decides to add it to PocketPC. Which we all hope he will, but let's be grateful for what we've got so far! :D ;) Next version from me will be released early next week because of family commitments. so will the snes version work aswell? if so where can i find it. Don't ask me - I'm not taking that one on too :P
Guest djboo Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 i must say so far, this is probably the most impressive emu - i dont think people realise that the megadrive is a 68000 cpu - a 16bit monster - 7mhz minimum - and the same cpu as used in Atari ST's, Amiga 500's, really early macs and various other intersting things... the SNES was pretty much a fancy 8bit cpu if i remember correctly. using the 68000 emu for other projects is very interesting... im not expecting an amiga emu to suddenly pop out - but i know i would be super happy. UAE is prolly the most ported emu ever anyways. but anyways - congrats to the PPC dev and the guy porting this - its my most used thing on spv at moment - more than my fresh new copy of eclipse to be honest.
Guest badboy4life Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 WOW this Emu is the best yet!! ;)/ Great work on this - keep it up!! Just a small request, not a top priority, but any chance of adding an icon - so my Start menu and MRU can look nice?? :D
Guest quacka Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 maxh2003 will you give it the option to make the screen go opposite to the current rotation in landscape mode? Having the a,b, and c button mapped to say 5,8,&0 will also be nice for our mpx200 users :D
Guest agent.m Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 for those who dont know .smd roms can be renamed .bin and work fine :D
Guest Richie M Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 for those who dont know .smd roms can be renamed .bin and work fine :D I dont know if its just the ones i have tried but that hasnt worked for me, but there are actuall .smd to .bin converstion programs out there ;)
Guest agent.m Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 usually different file types hav to be coverted like u said. but i just renamed strider 2 and few others using smartexplorer and it loaded. sadly beta's up on explorer so cant do trick again. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest londonlad Posted April 30, 2004 Report Posted April 30, 2004 anyhow i get streets of rage working on this, then i can truly say 'I have lived'. :D streets of rage looks good, but it says 'time over' in the game and axle falls to the ground. so the emulator isn't able handle the count for a level. and ive got unlimited life too. one for fireburn dave, i guess, i think. at least i can call the police to do that rocket fire thing 8)
