I called T-mobile to make sure my Mitac could roam internationally but it still reads "no service".

I know it should work here but I am not sure why it isn't can anyone help. Even when I put in another SIM card I get the same response.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

i don't know if it can help but try using BandSelectCHT.exe on /windows directory (you need smartexplorer if you don't have a link on start/accessories written in chinese)

This may sound crazy but is the band selection set manually on a band that is not used by Tmobile?

Mine works fine with Tmobile, except the service says Cingular and I'm on roaming, since I'm using Tmobile's network, it'll be roaming from Cingular's perspective.

I wonder why it says Cingular. I had an O2 xphone and it did the same thing. Both were bought from x1387 seller on Ebay

Hello, yes i bought mine from the same guy on ebay x1387 or something like that. My phone keeps saying cingular, and im with T-Mobile. When i pop my sim card into my old phone, it says T-Mobile again. Is there any way to change this on my mitac 8390? If not, am i gonna get charged from tmobile? im on the nationwide plan, but i dont want any stupid roaming charges, esp when im not roaming. Please let me know. Thanks!

If you ruys are in CA or Nevada, T-mobile is riding on Cingular network (means all users are actually roaming on Cingular however not billed for that) and all the phones not purchased from T-mobile, will show Cingular on them because you are on virtual T-mobile network, not actual.
