Guest kurtfhouse Posted June 18, 2004 Report Posted June 18, 2004 I have a 256MB sd/mmc card and I have got Shrek and Bruce Almighty and 19 WMA tracks on it aswell as all of my apps. The movies are great quality too :D I use pocketdivxencoder to encode my movie files
Guest Emad Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 hi just woindered if you guys came across the wonderful divxencoder for smartphone ive had some really excellent results on my mpx 200 http://divx.ppccool.com <---------------------pocketdivxencoder and also a link to betaplayer Anyone know any good settings for this? (video quality, resolution etc?)
Guest mavisdavis Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Anyone know any good settings for this? (video quality, resolution etc?) Emad it's very good. I encode at least 3 films a week to watch at work. Vey good results and only about 25mins a film
Guest Emad Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 What setings do you use mavisdavis? Video quality 6 and audio quality 3 seem to render the simpsons quite nicely.
Guest kurtfhouse Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Emad, I have experimented with the various settings but the video doesn't look much better, if at all after 2 or 3, I agree though 3 for audio. From my experience after 3 on video you just end up with a big file for little quality gain.
Guest bigtommy Posted June 22, 2004 Report Posted June 22, 2004 hi there i am using beta player and i am trying to put a dvd on my sd card how do i convert it to run on my phone any help would be great
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Hi bigtommy How about you rip DVD first to VCD/MPEG/AVI format then from the latter formats, covert to Betaplayer supported video extension (avi) using either VirtualDub or PocketDivX encoder. For the DVD ripper..there are a lot of rippers out there. One example is: http://www.dvdrippers.net/ :D
Guest sakkans Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 why is divx size is 176 x 224?!?!? phone's screen is 176x220 ...
Guest djfuego Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 Becasue It's a mistake. well pointed out 160X220 is the best res without getting choppy on my E100
Guest gavboy Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 I tried the settings in the first post and the sound is pretty poor... very tinny. I therefore have to choose between using PocketTV which has great sound but fuzzy picture or Betaplayer which has great picture but tinny sound. Surely I should be able to get the best of both? BTW I have an MPX200 and using VirtualDub/Betaplayer.
Guest jaggajatt Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Ack that owns PwNs JOOO WooooooooooooooT basically its a really good idea
Guest djfuego Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 What? *washes ears out* Beta player is THE best option for any multimedia you want to play on the phone. Wash your mouth out...Pocket tv..*pshhhh* :) Possible tinny sounds could be low quality audio encode. mixer is on and emphasizing high frequencies or you have Betaplayer sound quality set to low. *Maybe you should wash your ears out* :P Beta player OWNZ at the moment. Please don't ever let me hear obscenities like that again. I gave the best encoding settings I could get with my SPV E100 116Mhz Obviously if you have a c500/mpx (200Mhz) you can up the bitrate
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Yep have to agree the problem is probably down to encoding rather than the player it's self. Are you saying the sound is tinny with or without headphones?
