Guest RussellH Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 I'm also torn between the MPx & MPx100. Have voted for MPx100, but which one I get will depend mostly on the price. They both sound like great phones. Don't want the MPx220 as I'm not a fan of clamshell style phones. I don't fancy the C500, as I don't trust the SPV range after all the E200 problems. Whatever I get, I've learned one valuable lesson with the E200 - Not to buy anything on release day. I'll be keeping an eye on the Modaco forums to see what you experts have to say first. This site is an invaluable smartphone consumer resource. Big up the Modaco massive!!!
Guest londonlad Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 mmm... ive not really considered the Mpx, will all the pocket pc apps work on it? (TV remote?), im off to do some research...
Guest midnight Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 i should think so, it is a pocketpc afterall :D
Guest refnulf Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 "Here" is Malaysia. And at the moment, I have no idea which one of the mpx series I'm gonna get. They all sound good. The clamshell bit is beginning to bug at me. I just don't like clamshells. But then again, it's the features that count more I guess. About the c500, I don't think I'm liking it much, but I don't know if it's going to be available here. It's released by Orange, and we only got the e200 here and that's in the xphone form. So I might not be able to get one even if I change my mind. Any idea if it'll be available in asia pacific? So here I am with a couple of months to decide. LOL But I'll wait for everyone here to get their phones and test em out nicely, then I'll go make the safe buy :D
Guest pwest13 Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 Why is the Mio 8390 so underated? Its better than the SPV series i have had (IMO), the only fault is the broken GAPI but that doesnt stop it being a great phone in every aspect. Anywayz the GAPI may be fixed if theres a ROM update. (big IF) Westy
Guest kevlar Posted June 11, 2004 Report Posted June 11, 2004 I like the mpx. Reminds me of the Rubiks cube. I can see championships being held, who can do the mpx the quickest! :D One thing for sure, my next phone will not be made by HTC! ( don't tell me they are manufacturing the mpx, please! ) Kevlar
Guest midnight Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 Nope, MPx is made by Compal (who also made the MS Smartphone the Compal AR11), as is the MPx100
Guest neilg Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 quite like the look of the MPx - will MoDaCo be supporting this device sa I guess strictly speaking it isn't; a smartphone but a pda, although it blurs the line even more?? Hopefully it will find it's own little home here.
Guest zeta101 Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 the mpx is a pocket pc phone edition, and there is a sister site for it thats already available for this type of thing, ie for the xda2 pocket pc phone. If you go to the portal and then click on the "MoDaCo Phone Edition" link thats to the top right of the page you will be there.
Guest neilg Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004    I can't believe i completly missed a whole other site!! last time there was a sister site it had p800 and p900 and was quite short lived. thx for letting me know alhtough I do fell a bit of a dumb-ass now!! :D
