Guest milmarkg Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 iv tried it already... ive noticed the ff: - loading is much much faster now (no need to wait for ~20sec ..) - start up screen colors are fixed now. - i think game screen is also fixed. but ive noticed some problems in the key bindings, - fire gets the equivalent of F8 - open gets the equivalent of F9 - "CALL" is not recognized as a key? (correct me if i was wrong) * (F8 and F9 represents the * and # keys respectively, instead of (LCTRL, RCTRL) and (Space)) so far thats all ive noticed.. suggestions: - maybe you can do something about the size of the grp file. The full version is >26MB in size and the atomic version is >44MB in size(this version is also cool to play, also works fine.) - file icon would be nice too. overall, this game gets better and better...

Guest axe Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 wow this version of duke is MUCH better ... indead no more waiting 20 secs after starting up, all colors better ... and .. I CAN JUMP !!! finally i can play this the way its supposed to ,,,... although i think there was a RUN feature in it that seems to be unmapped at this time ... using RUN + JUMP you should be able to get the rocket launcher way in the beginning of the game ... (i've tried it with only jump but i'm not getting there)

Guest milmarkg Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 for example: with the ff lines in the cfg file: LandscapeMode = 0 (the next lines will be under the [KeyDefinitions_Landscape0] function, or even replacing all the keydefinitions with these:) open="Space" "" Fire="LCtrl" "RCtrl" when i play the game, there was no fire and open key, unless i changed it with your default in the other keydefs as follows Fire="F8" "" Open="F9" "" which worked.. regarding the multi keys, for me, it was really a nice idea but as of now i found it quite difficult, but i think ill get used to it in a few practice or more.. excellent development. (i am also monitoring the development of the doom legacy port. Very much appreciated too.)
Guest roozbeh Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 so offcourse space and LCTRL will not work but what if you change them instead of f8 and f9 to pound and star? it is simply i was too lazy to implement those myself..... and in anyway if somebody make cfg file working on all modes and also redeifined all keys to work please send that file to me......

Guest milmarkg Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 have you used "Star" and "Pound" signs for * and #? but i have tested them without any problem..... well i never thought of using "Star" and "Pound" as the key instead of "*" and "#" ill try it too. thanks for the tip. by the way, as an added suggestion can you make the default save slot to a bit more safer storage (alternate storage e.g. storage card, ipsm, default game folder instead of the root dir), so that for some instances that when you want to or sometimes unexpectedly make a soft reset of the device the save data will not be lost when you forgot to backup your save file. I bet some other people here would agree to that. thanks.

Guest ultimasnake Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Hey roozbeh... good job on the new version, it runs as smooth as the pc version on my e200 (is there a way to view FPS maybe?) only i have 2 minor problems first is a graphical issue: Ones in a while (no certain reason) the screens "on screen sprites" (menu items and weapons) the second is that even if the Camera button is bound, it will still try and run the camera, as result you will see the game but wont be able to control it and once in a while you will see some items of the homescreen. Also saving/loading works great now... but i think that with overwritting it goes wrong..... (not sure yet)... oh well hope i helped a bit
