This phone has taken a dive. it's done. there is nothing to be done with it, it will not boot up at all.

Does anyone know where to send this for warranty work? It says I have until May 2005 inside of the phone for said warranty work, but I don't know how to go about getting an RMA and all of that jazz.

Any help would be appreciated.

What I would do is go to www.mitacservice.com and click Send Inquiry on the top menu bar so you can register your details with Mitac.

You should get a return mail so you will also have some correspondence.

Hopfully Mitac should tell you where to send it and give a reference number that can be sent with the phone.

Post back if you have any luck with this method :D

Sorry to hear about your phone BTW

thanks - I will let you know how it goes. Funny thing is that a friend of mine gave me an old samsung x105 and the reception with this is much better than the 8390. wtf is up with that heh.

I have good news that I received from Owen Hu -- he told me to send it to him (and provided his address) and he will fix it and return it, as long as I pay for shipping both to and from there. I just need to find out what he wants me to send (the entire thing perhaps since I also have a defective power supply / recharger).

I'm going to try to get it flashed with the newest BIOS, and if there is a way to snaggle it for you guys, I will do so. :D

Well, I sent it off yesterday via USPS ($34, but way better than the $90 it would have cost from Fedex/UPS) . . . will keep you all updated (and also if there is a way to get them to start giving out the newest BIOS ...)
