Guest mrrippey Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 simmons21, I definitly was not trying to single you out so I hope you did not get offended. I think with anything of this sort, there are going to be risks and issues associated. @nonymous's WM2003 "hack" or whatever anyone wants to call it is much better than any (well almost any) other MPX200 user was last week. There are still some issues though and hopefully @nonymous can figure them out. I mean dag, he got this far.....make it happen @nonymous, no pressure, no pressure....LOL Rippey...still searching eBay :D
Guest abatis Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 I have the US ATT 2003 that was a Dec 31, 2003 build on my main MPX200 phone. This ROM was never released to the public. Anyway, I put the @Anony ROM on my wifes phone last night and loaded her stuff on it. It seems to be very simlar and they both have a few of the same issues as the ATT 2003 ROM. The new ROm is a March, 2004 build so maybe some things are improved. Anyone bashing @Anony for this ROM is a fool. From the reports of Sean over at MGN, who had the MDC ROM MPX, I do not see any of these ROMs being totally free of bugs. Look at Windows XP, it is good but it still has bugs.
Guest equis Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Why are the instructions and read_me.text all in english, but not the ROM or was that a translation from MSmobiles?? Anyways glad the rom is here, and I am going to try it. :D
Guest hulk2 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 HY All ok with the wm2003 on my offiicial Italy mpx200 but now how can I use the CAM where is the menu??
Guest abatis Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Well it takes 2 minutes to change the Anony ROM to English. Or you could pay $40 and get the Americano version. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=5708650738
Guest equis Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Is the one on Ebay an actual English Version or someone that reworked this image of it?
Guest equis Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Hahahahaha, no way I am not sending my phone to anyone on Ebay!
Guest abatis Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 The one on Ebay is an actual ATT 2003 ROM.
Guest smooth1 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Hmm, tried to update my mpx200 but it keeps saying :bad news upgrade failed! I tried using the smartfon.inf file that came with the original rar but still same result. I'm using windows me. Dont tell me i've got to put windows 2000 on my pc just to upgarde my phone?!?!  :D
Guest redline135 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Well, I dont know about everyone else.. But I Just did the rom update.. (no more that 20 mins ago) and It worked perfict. I did the regedit to english, and its working great. Im using a att moto mpx200 ulocked to Cingular, and I have not had problem so far. I want to give a big thank you to all that were invalved in getting this updat out to us. I was going to have to buy a nother phone, but this breathed new life into my phone. and for one am happy with it... Thanks again... ReDLiNe---------- :D
Guest aconnell Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Anyway to find the GSM band you're using before you try the update so you won't screw yourself? Also, is the original ROM on the CD that comes with the CD? I can't be without my phone and I'm hoping that I have a backout plan if necessary.
Guest w4rmk Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 T-Mobile SIM Problem: FYI I tried the following: take the SIM out, turn on the phone, turn off the phone, put SIM back in, turn on phone. I still get the SIM Error 0 message and SIM Manager will not read anything. My wife has AT&T service, so I will try her SIM in my phone and see if the problems go away. I'll let you know the results.
Guest theiz Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 @Lutz; Think this is a great update. A few posts ago you mentioned the hello_moto link for installing the network settings. My pc monitor keeps flashing (becuase of the signal) after i point go in my browser to send the settings to my phone but nothing happens on thje phone. I tried putting in the setting by hand, but i doesn't work at all. I can't even use the ' work connection' with my pc. Can you help? I am on Vodafone - NL by Debitel. @ ALL OTHER READERS; be thankfull to @nonymous. Most of you seem to be fiddling instead of reading. You could have stayed on 2002 too, you know! :!: Everything works fine on the 900mhz as I wrote before

Guest equis Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Uhmmm has anyone tried to ActiveSync with the WM2003 rom? I can't sync anymore. :D
Guest pookieguy Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 does anyone know how to keep the keypad lighting on? This image automatically turns it off after a couple of seconds. I don't know if most of you noticed that. thanks,
Guest lutzh Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 did you hardreset after upgrading? you are the first who has this problem - also: reboot pc after update! cheers, lutz
Guest iraqigeek Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Lutzh, I recently bought three MPX200s from ebay in the US for myself and a couple of friends. They are on their way to me in Iraq. Currently we have only GSM900, and I still have some concerns about the firmware supporting it. Until now, I think, only one member said to have used the new firmware on GSM900 (vodafone in germany), if we can get confirmation from @nonymous in an upcoming fix/update that the firmware supports GSM900, it would be a big assurance for me, my friends, and any owner of a mpx on a 900MHz network. Apart from that, I also noticed some members mentioning that they had problems with their SD cards, any other members had SD problems? Thanks, IraqiGeek
Guest pookieguy Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 lutz, Yes I did. Do you recommend I do it again? Thanks,
Guest equis Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Lutz, I just rebooted my PC and the MPX and I can not sync at all, it says that I have an incompatible version of ActiveSync. And that I should upgrade, my ActivSync is 3.6, and I am downloading the 3.7 one right now but I don't think there is that much of a difference.
Guest dshaugney Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 I'm sure you will be okey with the latest 3.7.1 version. I have it and it works seamlessly.
