I am having the same problem with both the ActiveSync auto connect (or receipt of a Exchange 2003 SMS) and the ActiveSync scheduled updates. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

On the other hand, when it does attempt to connect it succeeds (connecting to Exchange 2003).

Also, the volume bug has been confirmed by a few people. Basically the volume just goes up and down as it pleases, proven by the the startup sound being quiet sometimes and speaker very loud other times.

Turn on and off your phone a few times and listen. Also remove the battery once or twice while you try this. You'll noticed the volume will be loud or quiet, or in between, at it's own deciding.

No, I haven't yet. But that might fix it. Hoping to hear from someone else who tried.

Actually, somehow I doubt that will fix it. When ActiveSync tries to connect to Exchange, it works. The problem is not the connecting but the fact the phone does make an attempt to connect.

I know where IPSM went.I have a qtek 8080 which also has "storage" BUT there i can see my mmc card as "Storage Card",that's why i was confused

Anyway,

Thanks!

Boy I would love this in English!

Not to be ungrateful, after all, anyone who gets any version of SP2003 and makes it available to us is a Hero in my books.

A SuperHero would also do it in English :D

For those hoping that the gprs update will solve the email problems, in my particular case the answer is no. I have been trying to access my email via gprs, it worked once but now just hangs at the connecting screen..

I too am getting the strange random volume levels.

I cant get a dial up email send and receive to work either :-((

I too dont wish to sound ungrateful for the rom, but there certainly are some problems at the moment.

Heres hoping that @nonymus is beavering away in front of his screen at this time on the next release!

Has anyone figured out how to get static icons on the home screen using the DEFAULT layout?

I've used RJ Plug-in combined with new layouts, and that works fine.

However, I would like the default WM2003 layout but with static icons.

Thank you,

The support in here is incredible. :D

Hi,

Installed Rom soon as it came on line. Points of note,

1. On orange but Hard re-set sometime ago to Moto rom and installed over that. Don't know if it made any difference or not but the installation went with out a hitch.

2. Set language to 0809 Uk English, also region to UK. T9 and all else OK

3. Set GPRS up manually to orange settings and have no problems so far

4. Set all internet and email settings up manually, make sure they point to internet, No problems yet.

5. Email will not connect while the phone is connected to PC. i.e. the activesync. As soon as I disconnect from PC the Email connects and logs on straight away.

6. Many features have been tweaked for the better. The browser for instance is far superior to the 2002 one, and multi email addresses are cool.

7. Battery 86% at Night, in the morning 84% much improvement to 2002 rom.

8. Clear type improves with usage. Much better than 2002 non clear type.

9. Programs did crash now and again but again improved with usage.

All in all a worth while upgrade me thinks.

Much thanks to @nonymus.

A couple of questions:

1. Is there any improvement in reception?

2. What's this business about one of the splash screens being a bit, er, unofficial?

Thank you kindly.

Used it for about 6 hrs. Being WAY to unstable to be worth my time. Email not always connecting, progs crashing, phone locking up.

Does anyone know where I can get the rom for 2002 so I can go back?

I just don't get the wm2003 update installed.. you know when the wizard says: HOld down the left nav key blabla and put in the usb cable.. i do this but nothing happens?! And the wizard isnt able to detect my sp :D ...

All I can say is make sure the phone is off.

then you do the hold the left nav and plug in the usb cable and keep holding it till the found new device dialog pops up.

if it still doesn't popup make sure you have your PnP windows service running

Warning to other ORANGE UK users... There is a problem with the Emails. Sometimes connection can take anywhere up to 10 mins to connect to the email server, and sometimes it just hangs 'Connecting', and the only way to stop it is to kill the application. Any ideas anyone, on whats going on. Internet works fine... I have installed the updated radio stack that was also released, and Im still having problems with Email. Im wondering if this is a Orange Uk thing here, since many users have reported E-mail working fine... Any clues

Have you flagged the "outgoing server requires authentication" in accounts set up?

Unfortunately due to extremely big web traffic (several tens of GBs daily)

 - I am no longer able to host these ROM upgrades to Smartphone2003 for Motorola MPx200. Therefore today (Sunday, July 11, 2004) on 22:00 CET (21:00 UK time) - these download possibility from msmobiles.com will be no longer available.

Now I am in process of looking around for web hosting possiblity that would be able to face such huge web traffic daily for a reasonable price (any recommendations are welcome - post them anonymously here) . But for now: sorry, but I have to close..

Finally got my USB connection working again and have now flashed my MPx200 with the WM2K3 rom and both patches :D

Thanks a lot for all your hard work @nonymous :!:

No real issues at the moment accept for some reason Xbar 2 wont work??

It says failed to instal as it was not made for this device :D , I thought it worked on 2002 and 2003, or do I need a different version?

Does anyone know the web address for Orange World, got GPRS back up but obviously no orange stuff in favourites

Cheers
