Guest wantmys2000 Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Has anyone gotten the GPRS connection timeout to work? Everything else works perfectly on my MPx200 except that a GPRS connection never times out. I am just curious if this is going to suck down the battery with that connection always up.
Guest tadmartin223 Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 As far as the T-Mobile SIM card issues goes, you just have to cut the phone off, take the SIM out and keep trying. If I cut my phone off, reboot, then it will work, but if I cut it off and reboot again, it doesn't. WM2003 just acts funny sometimes in regards to that issue, so just keep playing with it until it works for you.
Guest Megadeth Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Where is hte GPRS time-out option? I remember seeing it but not sure where.

Guest DarkJedi Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 im having the same issue with my cingular sim. yet it worked perfect in wm2002, weird. yet when my friends call, their name and number show up though i dont have any contacts in my book.
Guest wantmys2000 Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 The GPRS Timeout is in Settings -> Data Connections. Hit the Menu Soft key, then Options. But it does not seem to do anything.
Guest CodesRaider Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Hi Stevie, Yes, i am getting that message. So I don't think we can do anything except getting a MMS Client that works in WM2003 or maybe wait for MPX100. MPX100 uses WM2003 and I am sure Motorola will include a working MMS client in it, at least for Europe and Asia market. Pico, You can get the multi language update from msmobiles.com but it's been taken offline due to high traffic. You will need to wait for next month. However, I don't think you need the multi language update if you want English only. Use the registry hack to get the English. After that, your mpx200 should be working fine. Guest mylifesaver Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Missed the download period on msmobiles...is there anyone out there that has the file and is willing to hook up via either yahoo messenger and transfer the file. I really would like to be able to use 2k3 on my mpx200. If anyone is willing pls contact me either at [email protected] emai l address or add me as a buddy on yahoo messenger under the same ID. Thanks in advance to anyone that is willing to do this. I of course will share and do the same for others. From what I understand it is a 29mb file. I have a high speed connection and should not take too long. Someone must have it....=0) Thank you!!!! :!:
Guest chudy Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 this is in my "MPX-200 w/ WM2003 and T-Mobile SIM Card Poll" thread but since this one is getting alot more traffic, here is a possible sim manager solution which seems to work for me and other people who read the other thread.... ----------------------------- k, i finally got my phone to copy the sim card contacts....worked twice for me so maybe its not a fluke and the same procedure will work for others..... 1. turn phone on... 2. put phone in flight mode... 3. turn phone off... 4. turn phone on... 5. disable flight mode... (Note: once I do that my phone goes into an infinite Search mode, displaying Searching... for provider name, this is fine for getting your contacts) 6. run Sim Manager... 7. turn off/on the phone again... btw, to get the flight mode option, you need to press and shortly hold the power button (obviously shorter than it takes to turn the phone off ) lemme know if this helps anyone... cheers, chudy -------------------------------------------
Guest FloatingFatMan Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Well unfortunately I went back to WM2002, WM2003 was not running to smooth for me, Hey, how did you manage to go back to WM2002? I've got the WM2003 update, but am somewhat wary of trying it if I can't go back... FFM
Guest TANKERx Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Yeah, I'd like to know that! Where can one get a 2K2 image? Am I allowed to ask that here?
Guest ppczouz Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 btw, to get the flight mode option, you need to press and shortly hold the power button (obviously shorter than it takes to turn the phone off ) Chud, a simpler way to go there would be to press and hold the home button. Regarding the keypad light go out too fast I don't know if this problem has been solved... I found a way: in the registry: HKLMSystemCurrentControlSetControlPowerActivityTimersUserActivity There is a value called Timeout that is set to 2 (2 seconds I guess) I set it to 30, and now the keyboard stays on a long time (much more than 30 seconds). I am sure it has some other effects too, don't know them yet except that it also affects the external LCD (which now stays on for 30 seconds after I flip closed the phone... that's something I wanted too, so it's a good side effect :D ) Take care all, and many many many thanks to @nonymous for the Rom update!
Guest TmB Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Hi folks, long time reader, first time poster. Upgraded to WM2003 successfully (Vodafone Ireland). No problems at all. Everything is working fine. Glad I did it. Thanks @nonymous......
Guest abatis Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 There is a link that includes the German 2002 ROM somewhere on the thread. That is a nice ROM.
Guest ragehard1972 Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 hI, I'M AN ITALIAN USER. i HAVE MPX200 W/2002. Where should i find 2003 rom? Is it only in english? som italy version around? Thanks Christian hi there, you know me, you know i am not bullshitting around.... it's here, you can download and install it for free on your mpx200. at the moment in german only (for reason) but who knows, maybe @nonymus changes his mind and makes a english version next week???? battery lasts between 4 to 5 days, quicker, smarter memory handling and the multiple mail account handling are only four of the things included in windows mobile 2003 for mpx200.... details here: msmobiles.com cheers, lutz
Guest madds Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 I thing i noticed, is that with all the upgrades made, if i creat a key called 0816 Portuguese, then got to settings/regional settings and select it, a few parts of the phone really became to Portuguese. In the http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewforum.php?f=43>homescreen instead of profile shows "perfil" in settings instead of phone settings shows "definições do telefone", and the very low battery warning also appears in portuguese. Is there a way of making all the rest appear in portuguese? I'm fine with it in english but would love to get it to portuguese!!!! Someone??? Thank's in advance Also when in a call, if you go to the homescreen also shows "chamada em curso" instead of call in progress" The missing call also says "chamadas perdidas:" Ok but that's enough of portuguese classes!!! :D :D Anyone knows if it's possible to make the rest of the phone appear in portuguese? I know we lost the Euro 2004, but i'm a nice boy, and all i want is to have my moto in portuguese!!!
Guest combustion Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 guess im one of the lucky ones but Im having no problems with my t-mobile sim... upgraded to wm2003 yesterday and everything is working perfectly.
Guest Motofone Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 ppczouz, Good one, set activity timer to 20 and it also stopped programes timing out. Reg-edit and power tasks used to shut off after short usage now they stay on. Also set system activity up to 20 from 10 just to stabilise things. Now 2003 upgrade seems to be rock steady. This upgrade has made us all look deeper for ways to rectify things. Nice One. Cheers.
Guest theiz Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Let us keep on topic, ok? I guess you could have figured that out by yourself too!
Guest jimbou Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Does anyone know how i can configure keypad lighting. They donnot light at all. I know that there is a bug and light only for some seconds, but mine don;t light at all
Guest FloatingFatMan Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Well... I bit the bullet & installed the bugger and I must say, so far it all seems to be working perfectly! :D Phone is definately faster! Much kudos & thanks to @nonymous for giving everyone SUCH a huge gift! :D You are da MAN! (Or woman, as the case may be ;-) ) FFM
Guest chudy Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 staying on topic, did anyone manage to get MMS working one way or another under WM2003? I tried searching around on google for compatible apps but havent found anything that would work...
Guest aliensix Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Shutting down is definitely faster, though I cant say the same for starting up. It takes darn long....I allowed the phone a quickreset headset against my computer....guess which got ready first? Yeap My computer booted to WinXP and was waiting for me. Somehow the booting process for the phone drains the battery. What do you guys think?
