Shutting down is definitely faster, though I cant say the same for starting up. It takes darn long....I allowed the phone a quickreset headset against my computer....guess which got ready first? Yeap My computer booted to WinXP and was waiting for me. Somehow the booting process for the phone drains the battery. What do you guys think?

That's normal, if you turn on a laptop with a full batery in the end of booting it will have spend some battery.

the same with smartphones.

I'm currently on t-mobile but waiting to do the upgrade as it sounds like MMS is not on there (which i use) and some ppl having issues with the sim card on t-mobile. Not sure but it sounds like there might be a new image eventually coming out for 2003 (pretty please....)

mfioble, i wouldnt hold your breath for a "new" wm2003 release...i think we're all pretty fortunate to have this one...

all together there doesnt seem to be any stability issues with this build and its a vast improvement in my eyes over the original firmware that i had on my phone....

for MMS we just need to wait for a WM2003 compatible MMS client, as far as i can tell there are no WM2k3 clients anywhere to be found wether freeware or payware...i'm sure with time this will be resolved...

keeping in mind that this is an unofficial and unbranded MW2k3 firmware that got leaked, it is not customized and the provider did not get a chance to include all the add-on's such as MMS into the overall package...(jMMS makers have bundle agreements with certain providers/manufacturers)

for the sim card issues, look for my work-around procedure that i posted on page 28 of this thread. people seem to have success using it, including me... since its a one time thing to dump contacts, its not a big deal for me to use the workaround, atleast now there is a way to access the sim data using Sim Manager...

incidentally, i used two different european T-Mobile sim cards (hungarian and polish) and an older Voicestream sim and they work a OK on my phone, it just seems that a particular type/manufacturer of sim cards is giving a problem (mostly distributed by T-Mo, but there are some Cingular sims and others having similar problem)...

cheers,

chudy

1. Having some problems with installing cab file.

installation file is not intended for this device"

2. Jeyo Personalizer

For some themes, got this "Bad image!"

PocketMVP -> File -> Open -> Video file

How come empty list ?

It worked in 2002 StorageCardMyDocument

May be should soft link to Mount VolumeMyDocument ?

- B-Tris doesn't work

- Golf-Link: first 2 times playing - doesn't work, after create player, quick start, during loading, quit half way...then quit all task -> restart -> ok -> memory not enough ?

- Toki tori -> screen 2/3 shown, 1/3 cropped.

=> So not all 2002 apps compatible with 2003.

hey all!!!

I want to install the WM2003, but.... i don't want to lose the MMS function yet! It is summer time now, it may be needed!!

Too bad that the MMS client isn't a part of the system 2003

I hope that soon we will have an update on this!! :P

I want to say a big "Thank you" to @nonymus for giving us the opportunity to have today the WM2003 on our phones!!

Cheers, mmystery

this is in my "MPX-200 w/ WM2003 and T-Mobile SIM Card Poll" thread but since this one is getting alot more traffic, here is a possible sim manager solution which seems to work for me and other people who read the other thread....

-----------------------------

k, i finally got my phone to copy the sim card contacts....worked twice for me so maybe its not a fluke and the same procedure will work for others.....

1. turn phone on...

2. put phone in flight mode...

3. turn phone off...

4. turn phone on...

5. disable flight mode...

(Note: once I do that my phone goes into an infinite http://smartphone.modaco.com/search.php>Search mode, displaying Searching... for provider name, this is fine for getting your contacts)

6. run Sim Manager...

7. turn off/on the phone again...

btw, to get the flight mode option, you need to press and shortly hold the power button (obviously shorter than it takes to turn the phone off )

lemme know if this helps anyone...

cheers,

chudy

-------------------------------------------

Okie, I tried that and I could access my SIM card until I turned the phone off (Step 7), then it was back to giving me initialization error. But at least I know the SIM card is ok :P

megadeth, yes this is just a workaround for times when you need to access content on the sim card....

everytime you want to access sim storage data (ie copy concacts from sim to phone, sms etc) you need to follow the procedure...

since you only needed to copy the contacts and sms's over once, i didnt have too much of an issue with the phone not being able to access it in regular working mode...i seldom use the sim manager, except for updating contacts into sim or dumping sim onto new phone...

There is a patch, I got it, but can't remember where from! Search google & you shall find. In fact, I think there is a link to the patch somewhere in this thread.

That's cool. Wasn't sure if it was just a temp or a perm fix. It is fine with me as I never really use the SIM card except for storing contacts, and I do that just fine with it syncing with Outlook :P

Malloc created a patch for us... thanks again buddy!

You can find it in a thread a few pages back.

I just upgraded and eveything works except the power consumption/battery life lasts about 5 hrs. (not 5 days like the OP stated). Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions/solutions?

Guest kongee

ya i have the same problem with the battery life...it dies out pretty fast.

anyone know how to fix that?

Guest RobPowell

short battery life will be because you did not fully charge your phone before upgrading and hard resetting! fully charge, hard reset, and you should be better. Posted from my SmartPhone!

Installed the wm2003 rom, the language and the radio stack update, very pleased with the upgrade. Thanks to @noymounous (sic) from the bottom of my heart. One thing I would like to be fixed in the next update, if ever was one :-) is the volume bug. Does this bug exists for the lucky original wm2003 upgrade owners? If not, shirley (sic) it can be fixed :P

kindest regards

Hmm.. just noticed something I'm a little dissapointed about... I seem to have lost the line 2 capability that was there with my original Organge UK 2002 rom... If I go back to the generic 2002 rom, will I get that back or did I just stuff myself? :P

It's not a massive biggy as I rarely used it (only when 2 people try to ring me at once), but it was a useful function...
