Guest cyph3r Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 alright, after the update problems. 1.when receiving a phone call the phone doesnt ring until the 4-5 ring. you can see the incoming call on the outer display but you hear nothing then on the main display says "error unable to answer call" the keypad will lock during the call aswell, not able to press the answer button 2. after the phone call ends the caller id will keep scrolling across the outer display until i power cycle the phone
Guest chudy Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 are you sure you did a hard reset and not just rebooted the phone ? funky stuff can happen if you dont do a proper hard reset
Guest cyph3r Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 did the hard reset, hit yes to the master reset, did some format thing then shut off then turned on. ive left the phone on with the caller id scrolling to see if it would fix itself. its been 30 mins. and im still getting the caller id error on the outer screen should i do it again?
Guest mmort7 Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Hello to @nonymus and thanks for great job. My question: can you please add (version 3 ??) CZECH T9 support, please. TIA Martin Moser - mmoser(at)cz.tiauto.com
Guest juliankay Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Anyone installed the NEW rom yet? I'm thinking of installing this when I get my Moto back from repair. I'm glad they have the normal boot screen now!!!!
Guest flashflash Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 This new Rom has the same version and build number. So it looks like the only difference is the start up screen and more languages supported.
Guest madds Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 ok, nice work @nonimous!!!! Now to make it perfect portuguese language please!!!! :P
Guest AvWijk Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 For anyone who didn't know, the new ROM can by found at msmobiles.com For ringtones, just dump them in de the root of your storage card or in My documents. I hope soon i'll got my hands on a SieraWireless VOQ for a review, and perhaps there is an usable MMS client in the package!
Guest juliankay Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 The MMS client is the only thing I'm really worried about. Have people tried MMS clients for 2002 or whatever? Is there a way of getting a dump of the original rom so we can fix this if it goes wrong?
Guest AvWijk Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Hi all, I already know which MMS client the SierraWireless VOQ uses, it's an MMS Client from Jataayu Software. It should also work on other Windows Mobile 2003 smartphones b'cause its not manufacturer specific. More info: http://www.jataayusoft.com/web/DcMMSC.htm @ juliankay: Unfortunately there is not way to backup your ROM image, but you could pull off a 2002 ROM image from the web.
Guest chuckjustchuck Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 since it's the same build, I would have to assume that the radio stack ROM was not integrated into this one. Am I correct? Also, was anything actually "fixed"? Since updating w/ original ROM, my phone has not been quite too stable. Was hoping this would fix it. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest peterling Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 help ! can't download rom from edit by Midnight: PLEASE DO NOT LINK DIRECTLY TO THIS ROM anybody can post out to me ....please
Guest chuckjustchuck Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 I was having issues doing it with the firefox browser, I had to use IE. If you were using IE just try signing up for the other forum and using that for the login instead of here.
Guest Interblat Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 I am wondering if my phone is fried. I've done hard resets, made sure I have the new smartfon.ini file, restarted the computer, etc. And still, the ROM flash fails. This has happened on a PC with Windows XP and another PC with Windows 2000. And I cannot install a WM 2002 ROM either. I'm thinking it's the phone. Does anyone know of a trick, in addition to a hard reset, that will force my form to accept the ROM? Any hint is greatly appreciated.
Guest mpx-za Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 I have been trying like heck to hol down the left direction key and press the power button. Â My phone just boots. Â I also have the usb plug directly in the phone. Â What am I missing? Don't know if this is going to help, what i did is i powered down my phone. pulled out the usb cable, then pressed the left direction key holding it in pressed the cable in, this made windows come up with the new device found dialog. i don't think you should power it up, that you only do after. can someone please help out with MMS. i got jMMS that came with my phone on a cd but when i try and install it it gives an error about not designed for the device. thanx for @nonymous for the new rom it rocks. i luv my phone all over again. it is a lot faster. only thing i would like with it is a MMS client. Please HELP
Guest www.msmobiles.com Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 help ! can't download rom from ... anybody can post out to me ....please nobody will post you over 20 MB. the link works but you must to login first with Modaco or msmobiles.com/f credentials (username / password ). both Modaco and msmobiles.com/f credentials were tested OK. remember also to enable COOKIES in your browser and if possible use Microsoft IE browser - this portal application is made with Microsoft technologies (ASP .NET) so I don't know how well it works in other browser. btw: please be nice to @nonymous, he put a lot of hard work to make it for you.
Guest xklik Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Anybody know how to make use of the supposedly bluetooth features on Smartphone 2003? I tried using an SDIO Bluetooth card on the phone once upgraded to 2003 but nothing happened. Any suggestions?
Guest china Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 I've just bought an MPX 200 as I know I wont be able to afford an MPX 220, well not until they're superceded by the next model. Ha ha. I'd realy like an English release of WM2003 it would make it so much better. Hey a Scottish version would do me. Ha ha.
Guest Exodia Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 China, theres an english version already available, its on msmobiles.com, havent you read the last couple of pages? :P xklik, the mpx200 doesnt support sdio so your bluetooth card will probably never work with it.
Guest mischievous Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Just updated the "revised" 2003 ROM with new startup screens, etc., along with the GSM update (which for those who don't read carefully, is not part of revised ROM), and after doing my Sprite Backup Restore, just want to say an absolute thank you to "@nonymous". My phone no longer has an audio "click" noise it had after previous ROM update when booting, and now everything seems great. Again, my thanks "@nonymous" for all your work.

Guest craigl21 Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 tried upgrading not working, using win98se, do i need xp or win2000?
Guest steeevc Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Upgrade works a treat on my MPx200 apart from an odd lock-up while I was in settings. I have a question regarding T9 though, when I enter a word and press 0 to cycle through the choices I just get the ding noise and nothing else. Anybody else had this problem? Another thing - I put Replace Sound on and it doesn't seem to do the trick on 2003, how do you get rid of the ding noise? Thanks!
