Guest Reveal996 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Still doesn't work! What shall I do? Battery is fully cherged, the computer when the phone is off recognizes it as a wireless modem. It start to upgrade and then it says bad news... Do I have to hard reset it before trying again? Who can help me? Greetings!
Guest eddieazone Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Hi, SmartFilter works great on this unofficial ROM. You ALWAYS have to run the PC INSTALLER to install SmartFilter. For further questions please use the standard support from the website novomobile.com. Maik :P Hi, Maik ... Thanks for the tip. It works now. My mistake is ... install it by copying the CAB file and run from the phone.

Guest juliankay Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Use the direction keys to cycle through available words You have to use the direction keys?! Why the hell would they do that?! :P EDIT: By the way, I'm not moaning about lutz/@nonymous. I'm moaning about the fact I'm used to pressing 0 and I'm assuming Microsoft have changed it. More thumb movement! :D

Thank you for your answer Hi thenet, Personally I think that Motorola has a database of which software is installed on which (series) of imeinumbers. So I don't think you'll get your warranty back....
Guest chudy Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 thank you theiz :P somebody had to say it!! i'm bothered by people coming into the thread and posting the same question over and over despite the fact that it's been answered here atleast 10 times already... for anybody who has issues installing WM2003 or anything else: Please READ the .doc file included in the firmware package and if problems persist, READ the thread(s) on this forum! Also use the Search funtion of the forum, its a shame for all the great information stored in this forum to go to waste! Guest JOMVINYA Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Would someboby clearify me on the band width subject? I have AT&T mpx200 with 2003 os. Can I use this phone in Asia or Europe? The options in the setting only show 1900, 1800, and auto. It was mentioned somewhere in this forum that the '03 upgrade set the phone back to the original state from Motorola....which has tri-band.... Is this correct? Please help.... Appreciate all your inputs.
Guest Exodia Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 I have an AT&T mpx200 as well. After the upgrade, my options are: Auto 1900 900/1800
Guest JOMVINYA Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Which version/.img did you use for the '03 upgrade? Does 'unlocking' your phone has anything to do with the tri-bands issue? Since I've never had any problems installing any softwares, I did bother to unlock my phone. THANKS

It was mentioned somewhere in this forum that the '03 upgrade set the phone back to the original state from Motorola....which has tri-band.... Is this correct? Please help.... Appreciate all your inputs. Hi Jomvinya, As you could have read in previous posts; if your phone was originally able to receive the 900/1800 and 1900 band it still will. Despite the fact that you won't be able to select a 900mhz option in the networksettings menu on the phone. Functionality stay the same, configurability won't for this topic. As I found out, the latest update which was mentioned on msmobiles (the WM2003, with the 'original' HELLOMOTO startup screen instead of the CARTMAN pic, was modified, so it show the options as it was before 900/1800 and 1900mhz. I believe others have posted here before that the AT&T phone isn't able to work on the 900MHZ band (for europe) because the chipset is not available on the phone. or something. Try the search option..... as mentioned above. Living in europe; there are fewer and fewer networks who operate on the 900MHZ band alone. Most times they build a network with 900 and 1800 mhz combined. If you have any question's regarding a specific european country and it's gsm network, try to search the www by google or send me a PM. Otherwise; I hope this is the answer to your question... By the way; welcome to the forum... you are just another guy who thinks that we are like the salvation army   ...see former posts
Guest JOMVINYA Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 My mpx200 has never shown the 900 band option in the setting. I guess that answers my question. Thank again for your input.
Guest pilotz69 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Is anyone else having problems with the up-to-date (UTD) feature working with an Exchange 2003 SP1 server? (yes I have appplied the the SMS subject line hotfix) I have logging set, and the SMS message leaves the exchange server, just the device does nothing with the SMS message. I confident the message is making it to the phone, as my speakers make the 'noise' we all can expect to hear when the phone is actively sending/recieving. Any ideas anyone?
Guest atomant Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 I hate me too comments, but I'm very keen to have this upgrade available in English. Where is the best place to start a petition?
Guest aliensix Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Sorrie to spoil your request for a petition. The Sole English version of the smartphone 2003 rom by @nonymous , aka super_moto2 (smartphone 2003) has already been avaliable for a week or more... check out www.msnmobiles.com .... input your Modaco details and away...you go with your fave download of the day! Been flashing images since the day I got my phone. Never once failed. So don't worry if it fails, just follow the instructions carefully and try again! The forum-ers are sympathetic souls, we'll help when the need arises! :P
Guest aliensix Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Bought my phone from US ebay, using my mpx200 happily in Australia. Australia uses mainly 900/1800 GSM networks. Works alright outside, but coverage in certain areas can be a downer. Otherwise, I love my phone. A work of art and with its "installability" and tweakability, the love interest for it will outlast the time span of buying a few non-smartphone mobiles. Anyone in Australia can confirm that coverage with the Australia version of mpx200 is good?
Guest zx9 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Just upgraded my mpx200 to win2003, but have now found that my favorite feature 'voice tags' is missing from 2003. I use to be able to add voice tags to any contact, prgram or function. Now when i want to run a program i have to do this manually by going through the menus. I am surprised that no body else mentioned this, or were there some 2002 versions also missing this feature. I brought my phone in Japan and it ran 2002 v1.0.34.0 ... unless i can find some other way to implement this feature i am downgrading my phone. Has anyone else had this problem ? ... and a warning for those who are about to upgrade, besides the extra programs 2003 comes with (which can all be replaced with 3rd party downloads anyway) 2003 doesn't seem much quicker than the 2002 version i had and as stated above doesn't include all the functionality that 2002 had.
Guest jimbou Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Don't know how, but you can always offer your help to someone who made such a big effort for all of us... Ok! I can help .If @nonymous wants i can compare my qtek 8080 greek version and translate everything for mpx200.

Ok i know that but is any chance to do this automatically - like in win 2002 , after " . " first letter is capital automatically ... Sorry for my bad english ...
Guest mpx-za Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 I have encountered a problem with multiple e-mail account of WM2003 on my mpx200 !!! When I download new messages from an e-mail Account, the old messages stored in the inbox folder and in the others are definitively erased !! This happen on each download !!! Have you the same problem? It's resolvable?? :?: I have the same problem, but I don't think it is a problem I think it is the way microsoft did it. I think the phone checks on the server what email is available and if there is any emails available it gets a copy to the phone. So when you go back to you pc and download the mail to your pc it isn't on the server anymore therefore when you download mail on you phone again it sees that the message isn't there anymore and removes it from the phone. that is my take on it. I haven't tested this yet but I will check to see if i am correct
