I would have thought that this was more to do with an application expiring rather than the OS. Have you tried giving the phone a hard reset ?

It says it official. Is that right? I was under the impression motorala were not going to release an official upgrade for this phone.

Can anyone confirm?

They say they have a Mpx200 Tri-band firmware upgrade that will enable the 900mhz band on the phone and that all North American MPx200 phones come with the 900mhz band, but it's just disabled. Wasn't it already said that the 900mhz band isn't a software issue, it's a hardware issue, right? Or am I missing something? These guys sound like a scam to me!!

I wonder where these folks got their rom from....

Do you think they may have stolen @nonymous' work? Note when they added it to their site.

I cant believe they actually want $35 for it too.

First off, the update would be available from either the Motorola or AT&T sites if it were official. You wouldn't have to go through some middle man, let alone some wannabe with a little web coding skill and an apartment address for his domain.

Did a little poking around. Here's the info on who owns the GSM Liberty domain:

Be careful about where you say it's not legal because I've actually been banned from MSMobiles because I pointed out on that forum that the ROM Images that were available there were illegal (that censorship flies in the face of this statement which was made by MSMobiles (context). But it's Ok now because the lad in charge of that side has told me that there will never again be an illegal (he calls it 'unofficial') ROM hosted on his site.

He's also said that I can re-open an account there if I want to (as long as I don't say that he hosted an illegal ROM - which he did ;-) ).

What, you got banned from the msmobiles forum because you said that the ROMs he had were illegal, and he's said he won't host any ROMs again?

So what exactly is the volume bug, I want to upgrade to 2003 but I can't find any mention of what exactly happens.

Hi guys

I'm using the Supermoto 2 ROM image and I have a quick question:

After upgrading the "G" icon remains on constantly. With the previous upgrade I also applied the GPRS radio stack fix, and this went away. In the documentation that came with the newest ROM image it says that we should only do this now if there are problems with GPRS connectivity, but my concern is about battery-life. Will it not be depleted sooner if the phone is always send GPRS packets? Is there a registry hack or something I can use to alter this behaviour?

I believe you're still supposed to applu the GPRS stack fix to the version 2 ROM.

That's right, and I have the PMs to prove it.

Just noticed a rather funny 'quirk' on the WM2003 update... when your typing a text message, if you close your phone and reopen it, it'll type a 0 for you.

Hi I know maybe these questions Im about to ask are answered somewhere in this thread but cant find it anywhere or maybe I just missed them! My questions are as follows:

1. My computer is still under Win 98 SE, I wonder if I can use this to upgrade my phone?

2. Should I disable activesync before upgrading? How can I disable it?

Or maybe uninstalling it will be better.

3. On the whole upgrading process, should my phone be turned off all the time?

1. The upgrade only works with Windows 2000 or XP.

2. There is no need to disable or remove ActiveSync prior to performing the upgrade.

3. Yes, the phone remains turned off during the upgrade process.

Thanks briguy, thanks for clearing this up before I really mess up my phone. Thanks I appreciate it!

Does the GSM update need to be installed with the latest ROM version too (the Hello moto one) or is it only for the first 2003 release? How can I remov it after installing it? Is the only way to do it by flashing the fone again with the latest ROM?

I have not installed the GSM update, but you would need to install it even with the newest update - if you need it.
