Guest vonBITS Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Got mine working fine, even have my phone receiving updates from exchange server 2003 which it wouldn't get before. Before I could sync, but now it will automatically push updates to my phone. What has to be done to get that working? Is it a "normal" eMail which is send to the provider who sends it as an sms to the mobile or what?
Guest neovader Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Try reading this thread for setting up with Exchange 2003: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=94951&highlight=
Guest roundsjr Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Was hoping I wouldn't find this bug... The iMate SmartPhone 2 also had this bug, but they just fixed in the latest version. When using PocketIE to sign into a web site hosted on IIS, you cannot input a symbol in the login name. For instance, DOMAINUSERNAME. Once you input the " " it goes to the web site, rather than going back to the login dialog so that you can finish the login name. REALLY bad for corporate users. Can't complain too much though.. thought this day would never come!! :D
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 My bad. I forgot the MPX had a funky implementation of ClearType. Posted from my SmartPhone!

Guest pkitch Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Does anyone with wm2003 german ron tried this ? I have it running and have used this tweak and have English both as OS language and also for T9, Incidentlally, you'll have both English and German.
Guest pkitch Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Problems: The update went fine. However now when I turn on the phone sometimes it just gets hung up on the moto screen and never goes to the http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewforum.php?f=43>home screen. Sometimes it boots fine. When it does work, after the http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewforum.php?f=43>home screen appears, I get a message as follows: "Unknown SIM status (Error 0)". I have to click thru 3 "Done" buttons and the message goes away and the phone works fine. This phone is on the T-Mobile network here in the USA. It's an AT&T phone that I unlocked back many months ago when I bought it. Any ideas? I have the exact same issue... Please PM me if you find a solution before I do... Thanks.
Guest trewang Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 yeah there seems to be a problem with tmobile sim cards possibly.. if a solution is found please share =) for now i can live with contacts copied over from outlook but OH THE IMPERFECTION!!

Guest edstark Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Yep, my problem was the tmobile sim card. I am going to see if they will swap with me...

Guest metter Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 i told you guys it works with tmobile dont you read. just take out your sim and put it back. then turn on and WAMMMM it will show you the ERROR or maybe not. But it will work and sim manager also works and contacts are there.

Could someone please send the 2003 and english to the following address: [Edit by Paul [MVP] - Requesting the ROM will result in an official warning (as will posting direct links)] Thank you very much!

Guest @ngel Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Guyz, I haven't manages to download the upgrade yet... I am going to do it today... However, I'd like to ask you about the battery management... How long does it last...??? Thanx...
Guest shamo Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 i told you guys it works with tmobile dont you read. just take out your sim and put it back. then turn on and WAMMMM it will show you the ERROR or maybe not. But it will work and sim manager also works and contacts are there. tried that but it still wont load the sim manager correctly. I even tried creating a new sim contact and a hard reset...still nothing. The phone function works fine, its just not reading my sim contacts (which is very annoying). I might just have to try a new sim. Any other suggestinos?
Guest flashflash Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 I will say again... To disable cleartype globally or just on the homescreen shell orange v1.3 works... However, I am on Orange (if thats got something to do with it..) You can also address the GPRS prob as well.... One thing to note, I am having problems with E-mail.. cant seem to get it working... Tries to connect, then when you try to disconnect, it just keeps on trying to disconnect, even thou GPRS has been disconnected.. The only way to get rid of this is to kill the application.. Can I ask if anyone else has managed to get e-mail working... Internet works fine.. Everything else seems ok... However, I must say this update hasn't made it any quicker... Im not convinced its really worth it at the mo.. If battery life has improved then i might change my mind.. If anyone is seriously thinking about trying this update, I would ask you 2 questions.. Do you need .net support, do you need multi email accounts, if not, I really wouldn't bother yet....
Guest flashflash Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 errrmmm, found another pretty serious problem.... Im not getting the icons on the front of the phone, so when I recv a text message, Im not getting the envelope!!! The missed call icon works, im not sure about the answerphone spooler icon.. Any ideas... Im starting to regret this upgrade!!
Guest Sparky280 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 cool! got it to work so far, got English on it, but even after removing all ClearType keys my text is still fuzzy..
