Guest mike8109 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 after i upgrade my mpx200 to wm2003, the grps is always on, how to turn off the grps. thanks.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 You are not connected, the screen is showing that you have it enabled(Big G in the top centre of the screen) 2002 on the mpx had a bug where the G in the center of the screen was only shown after you used GPRS. You are only connected to GPRS if there is a G in the signal bars. otherwise you are not connected.
Guest mike8109 Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 i have the 'big g' in the top bar of my home screen sicen i switch on, as you said it's not connected, but in the external lcd, the 'big g' is also displayed on the signal bar, is it the same for all smartphone with wm2003?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 It's shown on the LCd display the same as it is on 2002, it is only there to show you that the phone is GPRS enabled. 2002 had a bug where the G dissappeared when you did a power cycle on your phone and would not reappear until you used GPRS again 2003 has had this problem fixed.
Guest theiz Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 I think i have the smae bug on my mpx200 with ms2003. I am on vodafone netherlands and dispite all info on this site i am not able to use gprs. please, can somebody help?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 You will need to set up your GPRS and add your provider in SettingsData Connections
Guest theiz Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 i put in the settings for vodafone nl; but it didn't worked at all. In fact the big G on top op the screen isn't displayed at all, only when i try to connect afterwards it will display a G. But i can't connect someway. I just reseted the phone with the 1st anonymous rom and installed the language rom afterwards, because it seems to me that with the gprs radio fix my phone isn't able to use gprs. I even tried GPRS on my Sony T630 and it worked fine with the same settings. What should i do? did i do anything wrong?
Guest popanot Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 You probably need to load GMS-fix. I had the "G" all the time and it was discharging my battery at a rapid rate. Since I loaded the GMS-fix, no more "G" and all is well again.
Guest AvWijk Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I'm also from the Netherlands and I'm using Vodafone NL, please install the GSM-fix, your problem will be solved. It worked here :P
Guest dani_carrabba Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 To turn off gprs simply just double click the red button (drop call) and wait about 10sec, that should do the trick!! Posted from my SmartPhone!
