Guest alphajoe Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 I have the 2003 running great, but when I transfer all my personal ring tones to the "windows" directly they work fine until I reboot and then they are gone. I checked the file properties and it's not set to read only....anyone have any suggestions?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Ringtones need to be installed to the StorageApplication DataSounds folder. The main Windows folder gets rewritten on every start up so you will lose anything you place there on a reboot.
Guest alphajoe Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 That makes sense... I'll try that. I just put them in the windows folder because that's where the original sound files are.
Guest AvWijk Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 Just put them in the root of your storage card (Mounted Volume) it will work fine.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 To keep things tidy it's best to place your ringtones that are on your storage card in My Documents. Remember custom ringtones cannot be placed on your storage card.
