Guest gex Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 Compal spent a lot of money developing and designing the MPx100..with the hopes of large orders from Moto.. I'm sure they would like to recover some of that expense. Of course I have no idea what kind of contract they have in place with Moto in regard to exclusivity etc.... or if it applies now that they canceled their order....or if they want to chance hurting the relationship. Without Moto's name and distribution channel...and operator agreements and their subsidizing offers this phone has little chance of wide market appeal if it was released under an independent brand. Any company who does take on the cause will be lucky to break even. But it would be cool... :P I for one would buy it... for a max of say... $500?
Guest midnight Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 Don't agree Mid. The MPX100 had the joystick and style that the C500 lacks (gaming isn't gonna be easy with the C500 direction buttons). Don't get me wrong, I was leaning towards the C500 before the MPX100 was rumoured cancelled, still, it would have been nice to have had the choice. but the point is, the mpx100 was gonna come out october/november at the very earliest, who would wait that long as soon as the c500 comes out? and if you want a joystick theres the my s7 the mpx100 would be too little too late in my eyes, i'm sure moto would have done studies about this, they aint daft, they know more than we know :P
Guest Pondrew Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Spose. Still, I'd have put something of a price premium on the MPX100 over the My-S7.
Guest Pagemakers Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Maybe Mid's right and the MPX100 was probabily too little too late.
Guest dog Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 I heard it's delayed 'till 2005, and is having a make-over
