Guest jjunke
1.) Does the phone need to be unlocked for the upgrade? 2.) What is GPRS?
Guest phonesmarts
1.) Not sure, but if you bought the phone from AT&T in the US, there is no need to worry. 2.) GPRS is General Packet Radio Service. It is essentially is a faster way of sending and receiving data than GSM. It allows stuff like surfing the web faster and such. Guest aliensix
1) You do not need to unlock whether its sim-lock or software-lock you mean. However, unlocking your sim-lock would enable you to use simcards from other networks, unlocking software-lock would enable you to install any unsigned program. Btw, AT&T phones are not software-locked but sim-locked. Upgrading to smartphone2003 will "disable" software-locking if any to begin with. Warning: Everything (settings) is wiped out. 2) As answered. GPRS would be your wireless means of surfing the internet or checking emails on your phone. However it costs money.
Guest aliensix
Flashing to any rom will wipe out your current settings... Good luck anyway! I recommend Smartphone 2003! It rocks!
