Guest tik Posted August 19, 2004 Report Share Posted August 19, 2004 it just arrived, so is plugged in charging away... does anyone know what's best to do to ensure maximum battery life? in the manual it says at least 3hrs, sales staff tell you 10hrs or 16hrs - does it actually matter all that much? thanks. Guest Phil Lee Posted August 19, 2004 Report Share Posted August 19, 2004 Mines been charging for nearly 2 hours now and the light has been solid green for over an hour so it looks like the battery ships almost fully charged as people have mentioned elsewhere. I think I'll follow the manual and charge it for 3 hours, especially as it seems to already be fully charged. Of course since I'm waiting for the new sim to be activated I can't do anything with the phone anyway so it doesn't matter how long I charge it for. Guest tik Posted August 19, 2004 Report Share Posted August 19, 2004 that rings a bell actually - friend used to work for orange & said it was nothing to do with the battery, they just tell you it needs a 10 / 16hr charge to give them time for sim to be registered etc etc (& not have people calling up asking why it isn't working yet!)
