Guest adiohead Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 Got my 512Mb from Orca too - just need to start filling it up now ^_^ Got mine today! (the postman woke me up this morning!). Works perfect. I'll have to fill it up with DVDs and MP3s!!!!!!
Guest ah5150 Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 how come its so much cheaper on orca?
Guest adiohead Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 Not sure because it's a quality transcend card. £60 (inc delivery!!!!) is bargain. THE cheapest I have found in the UK. 512mb should do me nicely until the 1gb's are released.
Guest floater Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 got mine this morning too, well worth the wait, bargin!!
Guest rickwookie Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 got mine this morning too, well worth the wait, bargin!! Me too! Filling it now with rip-clips from my new 'Little Brittain' DVD. Lou: "Now are you sure you want to waste all 512MB storage on Little Brittain, it's a bit of a waste" Andy: "Yeah I know" ^_^
Guest iainp999 Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 oookaaaay...what software is required to create the aforementioned "rip clips"... :-D
Guest ah5150 Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 take a look at the topic called summit like 'movies on the c500 wow!' atm i just convert current video files to phone bit rates and sizes. but if ure lazy and don't wanna look at the topic (i suggest you do) you need dvd decryptor to get files to ure computer, pocketdivxencoder (freeware) and betaplayer on ure phone

Guest Saracen Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Kingmax 256MB Mini-SDs are down to £24 inc VAT and delivery at eBuyer! Have a look here. Come on MoDaCo shop! That's a £10 difference! I'm still waiting to get my C500 after 8th Nov.

Havimng said that, their are cheaper places than Modaco to get your MiniSD cards. Why are you waiting until 8th Nov to get your C500?
Guest Saracen Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 According to the review, it does come with an adapter. On 7th, I will complete 11 months then I can get retentions to give me the 3-matched tariff (500 mins for £25) and a new phone. That's the only reason I'm waiting. Might buy my memory now though.
Guest jordy Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 I have a 256 from Ebuyer, approx £23 all inc. I can confirm that this one a least came with an adaptor. Had no problems with it.

Orange don't (according to their website) match 3's prices - have you been told otherwise?
Guest Saracen Posted October 28, 2004 Report Posted October 28, 2004 Well, the deal is as follows: if you are an existing customer, with a high enough monthly spend (not sure, but £30-40 seems right), and you've been in contract for a full 11 months, then if you call retentions (by choosing "if you are thinking of leaving Orange" option in the menus, explain you want to leave for three and they'll offer the match. I have 3 friends who've already done it. But apparently it is touch and go. If it doesn't work, then call back again later and speak to another agent. But don't ask anyone else for it, they'll refuse point blank. Only retentions can do it.
Guest simonbratt99 Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 ya see that NEW price for 512...eh eh woohoo, (seee 1st post)
Guest spark-x Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 I think i'll sit it out until 1gb are a decent price, i can live with the original Orange card till then !! I don't want to start using it as an mp3 player until it can hold a decent number of songs ! But £55 is nice to see ^_^
Guest simonbratt99 Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 ive not seen a 1gb mini SD for sale
Guest Confucious Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 ive not seen a 1gb mini SD for sale That's because they are not yet available. When they are released they will, no doubt, be at a price premium until production is ramped up and then the price will plummit. I bought a 1Gb SD (full size) for only £99 when most places were still selling them for £185 or more but within a couple of months the price had dropped to about £65. It's worth waiting for a while unlessyou are desperate which is why i bought a 256Mb Mini SD card which should see me through until you can get 1Gb cards at a reasonable price. HTH
Guest chucky.egg Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Yeah, but waiting isn't my strong suit I've been busy sorting out my MP3 collection for the last few days and that's just making things worse - all those goldies that I want to listen to again but no 1Gb card! I want one NOW!
Guest MHLY01 Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 I just got a 512 from digi4all.com at $73 + Ship I believe, Its the transcend. You can search and there is a $5 off coupon from them. They gave me pretty good service, emailed right away and said they are out and will get them in friday. Let me upgrade the shipping. It arrived 3 days after they shipped it. Works well in my SMT 5600 so far.
