Reasonable idea, but I don't have "local" internet access from my work PC, and we have strict rules about sync'ing on work and home PCs.

Maybe there'll be another way around it.

The UK directory date has slipped 10 days

1. UK (Expected: 6/10/2004)

2. Germany (Expected: 20/10/2004)

Ah, I had to do 2 updates... my version hadn't been upgraded since I reinstalled after a Hard Reset

That could be a problem for OTA updates - if you have to do several updates to get to the latest version, and assuming they are all approx 300Kb+. Ouch

Anyone got a link to this app?

Is there a way to save the phone numbers without having to dial them first?

You might be able to copy them with xBar, but that would be about the only way I can see

You can always dial the number and then hang up immediately (before it starts ringing). The number will appear in Call History and you can save it from there

Says it will be released on 6th of October. Which has passed.

Jeez, this is like pulling teeth! It doesn't say it will be released at all. It says 'expected' 6 Oct 04. Anyway, if it's not available on their website then it obviously hasn't been released ](*,)

The UK directory date has slipped again...

Was originally 27/09/04

then 06/10/04

now 11/10/04

I don't mind the delay too much as long as they DO bring it out soon. The UK directory was the only reason I bought this app!

And it's why others are waiting before they buy the app....

Today is the 11th - lets see if it slips again or if we are all going to be happy bunnies ^_^

I get an error when I search the UK directory:

"alert. An error occured whilst contacting the server. Please try again"

It's odd because if I put obviously duff details in it says "Unfortunately there are no listings that match your seacrh parameters. Try broadening your search by specifying fewer details and/or verify your spelling is correct"

That seems to imply that (if there are no matches in the directory) it is working, but that it can't show results when a match is found.

On the trial version I've just downloaded, when you click on a number, it gives you an option to dial or save it to your contacts.

UK directory works fine for me, I've just searched for myself. This app rocks, if only I knew people in USA or Malaysia!

Plus 30 AUD is about £12 according to xe.com. Not long to make that back with all these expensive 118 number!

Ah, just discovered that it doesn't like the 1st digit in the post code

I was entering "TN6" as the post code, but the BT site (which is what Direct Assist uses) only like the first two LETTERS ("TN" in this case)

A bit more error checking would be nice, but it's working!

Does that mean you can enter a full post code in the uk search ... and it works?

I've just tried Directory enquiries on BT website and can get as far as listing peoples addresses but the "Go" by the side of them doesn't appear in mobile ie so you can't actually get the number - somewhat of a drawback in a directory enquiriy service!

Assuming BT fix this, is there any point in Direct Assist in the UK when all it does is access the BT site? Or am I missing something?

Just tried a couple of searches; everything works fine.

1. Do a search.

2. Select (using action key) name from list.

3. Name, phone number and address details displayed.

Assuming BT fix this............

Can't see anything for BT to fix :?
