Is the joystick 4+1 like the E200, or 8+1 like the SPV?

I wonder what kind of support tmobile manage to offer :?

its probably its worse than orange.

that's true! but several T-Mobile divisions on continental Europe have MDA so they will have SDA too.

Maybe the fact that there is no Euro currency in UK has something to do with it?

im pretty sure the first mda came out before native currencies were replaced with the euro. correct me if im wrong thou.

oh, and MS could you put the exact url for your RSS somewhere on your homepage - im finding it hard to find the correct url, thanks.

Hi,

post at another forum: Phone without contract shout be SIM-unlock (says the Telecom Hotline and some peoples from sale).

And the two add. soft keys are special versions from HTC to (only) this T-Com model.

Outstanding! Now if shipping to the US is less than $115 (which is what it costs to get the unlocked C500 developers edition shipped to the US), life will be GREAT! :)

I'd rather make first dure to get a sim-unlocked one.

Looks like Germany is taking a revenge... :?

Hi!

If you are interested, I'll try to arrange something (at least if the mobile is not locked and the price tag is completely clear) for modaco-users, so you can "order" it thru me (payment done via paypal). I'll keep you informed if you're interested.

Be warned: the prices for postal services are extremely high here in Germany.

Hy guys,

just to clarify again... If that flyer is right and final, the phone will definately be available *without* any form of contract and it will *not* be SIM-locked for EUR 270,- GBP 183,- or USD 325,-

There would have to be a note next to the price mentioning these limitations.

Besides, in Germany SIM-locked devices only appear in conjunction with pre-paid cards on the low-budget end of devices. Living in Germany I have never heard or read of SIM-locked *contract* phones.

As for branding, I think it is pretty likely that the phone will have a lot of pink menus and other pre adjusted settings.

I'm a little worried if the key arrangement is clever as the four soft keys appear to be very tiny. . .

Cheers, Yoko

Hi, I hope you're right to think they'll be no simlock. Here in Switzerland we also used to never have a simlock on postpay until Orange came up with SPVs + some signature phones later.

About the buttons, I don't personally mind as long as the joystick is 8+1 (is it..?) so that it'll be possible to play games.

You are absolutely right. You never know if some provider some day comes up with a new idea. Two things currently lead to believe it won't be SIM-locked.

1. Some guys on a german forum seem to have good relations to TM and "confirm" the device will be without lock.

2. I can't really see, how a lock would make sense to T-Mobile, as You sign a 24 month contract. That way they get their subsidy back anyway. Why upset the customer?

Regarding the phone for 270,- without contract: They would have to mention any restrictions due to legal reasons. It's not possible to sell the phone without expressive notes stating the SIM-lock

About the buttons, I don't personally mind as long as the joystick is 8+1 (is it..?) so that it'll be possible to play games.

Well, who knows - we will see. But if it's based on the c500 hardware... Let's hope for a revised hardware!

Doesn´t it seem a bit large??

HTC Feeler aka Qtek 8020

Länge x Breite x Höhe: 108 x 47 x 20

HTC Typhoon aka C500

Dimensioner: 108 x 46 x 16mm

Its 4mm thicker - making it 101.5qcm instead of 79.48 qcm - thats a whoppy 25% bigger.

Best regards

Jakob

You´re right - the C500 is 20% smaller than 8020 - but the 8020 is 25% bigger than c500

Should I assume that if T-Mobile release this phone, it's unlikely to be released by Orange as well? I Would rather stay with Orange, but this phone has made it to the top of my wish list (assuming it actually functions properly)!

just to be pedantic and possibly burst some bubbles...

it says 269€ without a T-mobile 24 month contract

Orange UK do a similar thing atm where getting a 2 year contract can significantly reduce the price of the phones.

Might be worth checking with them before getting too excited :)

???

What are you trying to tell us?

It states clearly:

99.95 EUR with a 24 month contract called Relax 100 (which includes 100 minutes airtime per Month)

Of course you can get it 50 - 70 EUR more expensive with other contracts which have less airtime - like 149,95 EUR with a Relax 50 or Telly (contract without airtime).

Which brings me to the point:

What is unclear on "269,95 EUR without a 24 month T-Mobile contract"? They use exactly this line since they are selling phones here. And it always meant: "If you buy the telephone without any kind of contract you'll have to pay XXX.XX EUR". And I don't think they changed their "meanings".

Just my €0.02

PS: Yes, I too find it too cheap. :P :D So I personally think that they'll include a SimLock.

"269,95 EUR without a 24 month T-Mobile contract" means NOT without fail "If you buy the telephone without any kind of contract you'll have to pay XXX.XX EUR"

why didn't they wrote "269,95 EUR without a T-Mobile contract". Would have made things clearer...

That is exactly what they wrote in the last line.

Word by word it says "Without T-Mobile 24-month-contract 269,95,-"

Until now, that has *never* implied any form of Pre-paid Card or any SIM-Lock. It is just a an ordinary add stating the suggested retail price without contract.

And again - if there was any kind of SIM-Lock, they would have to mention it for legal reasons. Neither is there any remark of any kind, nor is there at least a reference in a form of a "*" or a small number, indicating a catch to be mentioned on another page...

In my (very humble) opinion, it's gonna be the the final price (inc VAT) without any strings attached.
