Guest drblow
I'm just wondering about this ... When I edit an xml file in notepad, I choose 'save as...', and the default options are - save as type ... text documents(.txt) Encoding ... UTF-8 Is this the correct format to save files in? I've been doing that since whenever, but I'm just wondering if that would have anything to do with problems I have with edited homescreens on the c500?? Is there a better or different encoding to use? Shot in the dark, probably, but I thought I'd ask!
Guest zeta101
im not entirely sure, but i dont think you have to worry, normally in xml you dont use any special characters, and the dfference between different encodingis what special characters it has i think. But anyway, why do you save your xmls in .txt format? i save all homescreens in .xml and i just set it so all .xml files are opened in notepad... Guest drblow
Hmm ... ta! :) It's not that I mean to save them as text files, its just the default option in notepad. The files still have .home.xml as the extension, and have the xml icon. It seemed to work that way the first time I ever did it, and I just kept doing that way.
