Guest AngelOfRage Posted October 6, 2004 Report Share Posted October 6, 2004 Ive been reading through both this thread and the other "Car charger" thread. im think there must be away of using the standard USB lead that comes with the phone to allow it to charge from any pc with a USB port without AS installed, but still be used as a data cable. im not a technical person but from what ive seen so far, when connecting the phone to a none AS pc it picks it up and starts installing the USB drivers and then gives up, (no admin rights), but if you turn the phone off and then try it, it will keep repeating this over and over, instead of trying once then stopping, like when the phone is on. is there a program that can be used to make the phone think it is using active sync, to allow it to charge? I wonder what it does. I'll investigate with my scope when i get home on friday. Please don't wate your time, I've already solved this.
