Guest bopeep Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 For some reason I have a constant G over my signal bar on the exterior display. I know it is supposed to indicate when GPRS is in use, but in this case, it's not in use. When the phone is open, signal bar is normal inside. I have the usual G in the center indicating it's available. Any idea why that is on my external display? And how do I remove it? Help! :?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 The G on the LCD display is just showing that you have GPRS enabled. The MPX200 has a bug as such that on a reboot the G is not displayed on the LCD screen until you connect to GPRS, then it stays there until you power off the phone.
Guest Coolbox Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I don't think that is true for my phone...unless you meen when the phone finds a gprs available. When I reset the phone the phone seeks to find the net and also detects if there is a gprs connection. When there is a gprs connection it shows the G in the normal display and also on the external display over the signal bars.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 It should only display the G on the LCD display after you connect to the GPRS service. If yours does not do this and it is working properly it looks like they fixed the bug in 2002 when the phone was released in Denmark.
Guest Coolbox Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Cool...cause it does show the G on the external without using the gprs
