I bought a Mpx 220 this weekend and I have to agree with you that it is one of the best phones that I have ever used--Like you I can't seem to get the java apps that I used on my V400 to work or function on the mpx220--the blackberry functionality of the phone is awesome--I get all of my emails on time with no problems--Haven't had any trouble with the internet other than if the signal is too low (one bar) but other than that this phones kicks **s.  This is one of the best phones that Motorola has come out with--would love to see the bronze version make it to market as well.

"Blackberry Functionality"? Canyou tell me about this? Does it actually receive emails in real time, or are you just having it go out and look for them on a timed interval basis? The MPx200 can do this too.

Thanks for clarifying,

where lucky that someone gets very windy in here to cool of the heat in this forum. might as well mention where you got your college diploma and doctorate degree or maybe you forgot to mention that your a scientist.

i think we should nominate this guy who is "expert in cell phones and wi-fi" for moderator.

Well, I do have a Doctorate, doesn't make me better informed about my phone though. To think of all the time I wasted on Science and Medicine :D

Ask AVwijk  he did all the testing. But think it lies somewhere between the p900 and the v66i :D

The "blackberry" functionality is a combination of the Exchange ActiveSync functionality and OTA Notifications from Exchange 2003. Essentially what happens is this, when an email arrives in your mailbox, Exchange 2003 sends out an SMS. Now this SMS never acctually appears on your phone but it triggers an activesync. Presto! you email appears on your phone.

Works ok, there is maybe a 30 to 120 second delay between the time the mail hits your mailbox at the office and the time it hits your phone.

Cool feature.

Can you make this work from your home computer? I don't have a server and don't connect to a corporate server. My MAPI webmail is picked up via Outlook by my home machine. I can leave the home machine on all the time as I have a well-protected Cable modem hookup that's always on.

Thanks for the info! Cheers!

Hey AvWijk, can you enlighten us as to where the Mps200 would have been on this graph? Might help to estimate the increased functionality and speed of the new unit. Thanks!
