Guest hjh Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 Sorry, not sure what you mean? You said above that xBar launches when you press and hold the camera button - that's how it's supposed to work, with a long press of the button. You can change the time that the button needs to be pressed by changing the value in the .cfg file. thanks for replying. I already set time delay to 0 in cfg.ini file but I still need to press & hold camera button to launch xbar menu. I did try to map it to action button(key code 13) and set the time delay to 0, by pressing action button once(not holding it), the xbar menu launched(ya, the side effect of setting time delay to 0 mean it will make the button mapped to launch only xbar menu and no more). What I want is exactly the same, instead of using action key, I want to launch it by single click of camera button since camera button is totally useless to me currently. The xbar manual stated that those key code(13=action button, 37=left, 121=record button...) is from MSDN, so would like to know is anyone know what is the key code for cameara button.
Guest drblow Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Could someone post an example of how the .ini file is edited to change the deafult ACTION key to something else? I would like to use the * key if possible. I have tried editing the file, but it doesn't seem to work. Help! :?
Guest hawpunch Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 drblow, please find my attachment which i used to remap the xbar action key to be the "0" button. you can remap by changing these two lines in the config_ini file: //48=ACTION KEY_XBAR=48; // =121 for Key 'Record' that is currently set at "0" being the action button (the value 48). in order to get other number values which represent the buttons on the phone, activate xbar and then press "9" for help. hope that helps. aloha, jae park
Guest hawpunch Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 sorry, i'm a goof and i don't know how to add attachments. let me know if you have any questions though drblow. if you have an email addy, i can also email you the file.
Guest drblow Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Em ... I'm not quite sure I understand that! I guess the bit of code you posted was to set the record button - but I have a c500 which doesn't have a record button! Unless that has just become the camera button?? Anyways, you could PM me the attachment.
Guest hawpunch Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 drblow, sent you an email with my ini file. let me know if you require further assistance.
Guest yoos Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I have a c500 which doesn't have a record button! Unless that has just become the camera button?? Is it possible that if you just click this button it launches the camera, but if you hold it in for a second or so it launches the record notes feature? This is how the Voyager works anyways...
Guest drblow Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 is it possible to configure the clock display in the iconbar? i really dont like the way it is displayed with minutes under hours. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest spvdk Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Any chance the copy/cut function could be changed, so it works on the C500 too? I know I can cut'n'paste the complete text, but that is not what I am looking for, just specific selections.
Guest Cabana Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Is it possible that if you just click this button it launches the camera, but if you hold it in for a second or so it launches the record notes feature? This is how the Voyager works anyways... Same thing here - I have a 5600, no record button. The camera button doesn't do it even if you hold it.
Guest mutex Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 I've been using this on my SMT 5600 for a couple of days now. I noticed that the clock icon in the task bar doesn't seem to update (only shows the time it was when I last activated xBar). Is this something I'm doing or is it working as designed. Secondly, the temperature reading is usually showing 290.0 to 300.0. Is this a known issue with this device? Thanks! -mutex
Guest nickcornaglia Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 The clock and temp work fine on my 5600.
Guest stilger Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 Do you or anyone know if the Temperature fucntion works on the Verizon Samsung SPH-I600? Also has anyone been able to figure out what the Key Code is for the buttons labeled I and the one with a picture of a phone on the side of the SPH-i600? I would like to assign the I as my xbar launch key. Thanks. xBar 2.4 is online • New Built-in App Launcher (Use Up Down keys in xBar, you can customize it in the "start" subfolder) • Fixed compatibility issues with eVB for Smartphone apps. Now compatible with J Cody's Vnotes • Now compatible with the new Temperature Sensor (C500...) • Date & Time are in the local format • Reset xbar at WM_hybernate message (more stability) • Fixed Text font bug (compatible with CityTime Alarms) • Fixed long press on pad direction • Paste text now works on latest rom (Use select all text if your smartphone does'nt support multi key press) xBar 2.4
Guest nickcornaglia Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 I dont believe the temperature works on the i600 as the battery does not carry that function.
Guest scottb Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 [snip...]Also has anyone been able to figure out what the Key Code is for the buttons labeled I and the one with a picture of a phone on the side of the SPH-i600? I had some strange behavior with Xbar on my i600. I wanted to use NODAEMON mode and it never worked quite right--it slowed the response time a bit in DAEMON mode.
Guest Jerry Raia Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 I dont believe the temperature works on the i600 as the battery does not carry that function. No it doesn't. I used to own one.

Guest sherbs Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 OK, maybe some more info would help. I can find the 'start' folder and I can see the links in there but I can't find a way to add my own If I use File Manager on my Orange SPV C500 I can create a shortcut but then I can't navigate to the exe file. If I use Smart Explorer I can navigate to the exe file but can't find a way of creating a shortcut. What am I supposed to be doing? Thanks.
Guest chalkie14 Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Beware. I installed this on my SPV C500S (Orange UK badged). After about a week of use it slowed the phone down to a virtual snail's pace. A keypress was taking several minutes to actually execute and the action button stopped working completely. Before all this I lost all voicedialling functionality from my Bluetooth headset (Nokia HDW3) which was previuosly working. The phone was reluctant to connect via ActiveSync but when it eventually did I managed to uninstall the program at which point everything started working normally again. I would not recommend this for anyone else using the C500, based on my experiences.
Guest Mykec Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Any chance the copy/cut function could be changed, so it works on the C500 too? I know I can cut'n'paste the complete text, but that is not what I am looking for, just specific selections. Count me in too. Anyone figured out a solution to this yet?

Guest spvdk Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 Thx fozzie, I have been using that too for a few days. Works ok, although I don't like the timeout idea. Would be nice if Xbar was updated to function on the C500 too. After all, that's the reason I paid for it... :-/
Guest PayableOnDeath Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 is there trial ver of Xbar cos I would like try it before I buy it
Guest fozzie Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 is there trial ver of Xbar... Not of Xbar 2 but Xbar 1 is free to download: http://xetranet.free.fr/spv/xbar/ I do recommend Xbar 2 though :)
