Dust - update from HTC

Hello all. I have to say that this is such a useful site. If I hadn't read all your posts I would have been fobbed off by Orange and suffered a dusty screen in silence. So a big thank you to all of you.

Anyway.........I have an Orange SPV C500 bought from Orange in France. I contacted HTC this morning who were very helpful but told me that a repair on a phones bought outside the UK will cost me £45.63 + VAT + P&P which will also be more than the UK price ! Does this strike anyone as a bit unfair?

I'll wait for any comment you all have before I send the phone away.

Try it yourself for free - if you're careful you won't invalidate the warranty - there are instruction sin this forum.
