Guest BawBagg Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 OK - I've been avidly watching this, but it seems you guys are even a long way in front of me. When I pair my C500 with my laptop (Dell D400 with integrated BT from Widcom), I'm ONLY offered the ability to do Bluetooth Dial Up Networking. There's nothing about Serial Ports, File or Object Transfer or anything. - even though in the ActiveSync setup on the phone it says to connect to a device that supports Bluetooth Serial Port. That's the pot calling the kettle black!! I had a T610 before the C500, and although the C500 is great, the Bluetooth implementation is sh*te when compared to the T610. Can anyone spot anything I need to do?
Guest Dr Who Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Have you activated accept incoming beams on the phone? Once you have paired and you right-click the phone and do discover available services it is only shoing you DUN?
Guest DonKraft Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 Hi... I posted this yesterday in anpther thread: ---snip--- I already did this, am using the WIDCOMM drivers, and it still does not work.
Guest DonKraft Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 @DonKraft - if you have SP2 why are you using Widcomm drivers? I think the problem is that your Local Services Port should be COM 5 and you don't need the Clien Application port. Your PC is trying to connect to your phone on COM5 which is why it tries to connect. You need the connection to be made from the phone and it *should* work. If not, delete the widcomm drivers and just use the inbuilt BT Stack HTH I installed the Widcomm drivers before I got the C500, since that was the only way to get my Jabra headset (bluetooth) to work. Now it looks like I have to choose between the two devices. Sigh... Am I correct in assuming, that no matter what I do, I can NOT get the phone and computer to do activesync whenever the phone is near the computer - without me interacting? That was kind of what I was hoping for, since that would mean, I phone and calendar on my labtob always be synced. If I cant get that, I dont need to get bluetooth-connection to my C500 working, since that would be no easier than hooking it up to the cable...
Guest Confucious Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 You should be able to get your C500 working with youer Widcomm drivers but since I installed SP2 I use Microsoft's stack and apart from the advice in my previous post i can't help any morre as nmy Widcomm drivers don't work with SP2. With MS Stack ActiveSync has to be initiated from the phone, if as it seems it can be initiated from the PC using the widcomm stack then it "should" be possible to automate connection by having the PC sheck to see if any devices are in range - I am speaking hypothetically hear and don't know if anyone has tried this. I also use BT to check my emails and browse the web when I'm in another room from my PC using passthrough so BT is a lot better for me than USB. HTH
Guest DonKraft Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 WUUUHUUUU!! Out of NOWHERE I right clicked Serial port COM6, it asked for a pin, then the phone wanted to connect to my computer - and before I knew it, the green activesync icon in my tray started rotating! And it synced with the phone! Ya'll should have seen it, it was so beautiful!!  8) I know it sounds stupid, but I am 100% percent sure I HAVE tried this earlier, without succes.... Maybe today just is my lucky day, I gues I'm off to the track! :Dwuhuuu.gif
Guest Confucious Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 :D:D:D Isn't BT wonderful
Guest DonKraft Posted December 4, 2004 Report Posted December 4, 2004 I like bluetooth a lot more now than I did 10 minutes ago, I admit... Now I will try looking into getting the devices to connect without my interference, whenever they "see" each other... Any ideas on the subject are welcome!
