I just noticed that there are a bunch of other files there - I've just downloaded 'EnglishUK.zip'. It seems to contain what might be voice files. Can someone tell me what they are and what they are for, please?

Yes Blakey they are voice files, download the one you would like and drop them into your Mapopolis folder (the final version will have them included in the installer) and if you want the robot voice then you will need to download the PSPEAK.ZIP as well.

If you want more voices then look here but some of them dont have all the correct words for the current version.

If you want to record your own voices, yes you can record your missus saying "Turn left you idiot" if you want :) then you need TalkEdit but its not that easy to get the right levels/tone to all the commands.

Personally I still like Mr Robot, I know he grates a bit but he pronounces the road names and gives you exact distances instead of 100 Feet, 50 Feet etc.

Hi Blakey, for some reason its not saving the attachments when I post.

But hang on, checking my email I see that there is another version to download and this includes PSpeak.

See here. But the install fails for me so I unzipped the download and copied the cab file over instead.

Hey Blakey, if you are still having 'fun' with PSpeak etc then if you go back to here they now have V4.50.34 PC Installer which now works and allows you to tick the voices files to be transferred.

Only thing is when you 'tick' them they appear with a red cross :?:
