How long does it take to charge up?, cause i bought one from www.smalltalk.co.uk and expecting delivery tuesday or wednesday

2 hours i believe. You should charge it for some 10 hours the first time though.

Manual states initial charge should be 2.5 hours....

Yeah, but isn't it always a good idea to charge for like 10 hours with a new battery?

All rechargable batteries shoud go through an initial deep condition charge which involves aprox three total drains and recharges but newer batteries like the lithium type do not suffer from memory loss as much as the old ni-cd did. So if your charger does not have this function a long charge would help with a small trickle charge at the end after 2.5 hours.

It is also good practice to allow the battery to fully discharge once in a while this will help give it a sort of condition charge.
