Free CROSS-NETWORK MMS and some configuration difficulties

HELP !!!

Tried to set this up but can't get the test message to download. Just get a scrolling transfer failed across my screen.

Have set up the Orange Wap settings in the mms setup utility

Have set Orange Wap in data connections to use GPRS.

Now for the NowMMS username. Does it want my phone number or does it want the part of the email address before the @nowmms.com

As for MMS I can't even get Orange normal MMS to work I keep getting a failed to send message, mesage was moved to draft folder message. Anyone know whats going on ....

^ Check with O that the service is active on your phone (ie SIM update), as when I Upgraded my phone they left off a few services MMS being one of them, I got same error as you, also things like Call Forwarding were left off. One quick call and a SIM Update sorted it out (SIM Updates can take upto 24hrs to come through sometimes).

Definitely have MMS swithed on.

Just been on the bl;ower to Orange customer servicxes or whoever you get when you ring 156.

They have checked and double checked my settings. I just tried to send an MMS 9 times and it failed. On the 10th go it went.

Also set up a new connection using the settings supplied by Orange and managed to download a picture that they sent me.

But this is also hit and miss. Very strange.

Anyone else had similar problems.

Yep apprently oranges WAP server is VERY flakey. But then it could be an issue with nowmms. It is about a 1in10 ratio to working for me, but then at the end of the day their is NO other way to send an mms to someone on o2! To be honest mms seems like utter s*** to me at the moment does anyone else feel that this is why the networks are giving us 3 months free whilst they sort out the issues's?

Utter shite is a polite word for it.

I wasn't on about nowmms I am having these problems trying to send an MMS message from one SPV to another.

The girl in bristol I spoke to tried her best but at the end of the day other than tell me what the settings should be what can she do.

She sent me an MMS that my phone received however I couldn't connect to download the image. After setting up a new connection I manged to get the image.

However when I tried to send a new message it wouldn't send and just keeps moving my message into the drafts folder.

Orange should be paying me 40p a message if this is the state of affairs.

Anyway, Now MMS, I just set this up and it worked perfectly, received the test etc. Then I sent an MMS to me email address. The MMS app on the SPV came back and told me it had failed and moved the message to draft however when I checked my email I had received the message on the first try.

So part of the problem (which may also affect normal Orange MMS users as well) seems to be that the MMS app on the SPV isn't getting the right confirmations back to say that the message has been sent even though it is in fact sent.

Mighty weird...

Theirs nothing to stop someone making a new app. Appliation singing has become a little more sensible now too you can get 75 singing incidence from baltimore technologies for $485 or something close to that, we need a company who would be willing to buy this package and properly test and sign our apps for a small fee, that would mean 75 new apps suddenly hit the market, not bad :D

Are you on NowMMS, are they on Orange MMS. If this is the case it won't work. Orange MMS can only MMS to other people using Orange MMS. If you have moved yours to Now MMS then you can only MMS to or from other Now MMS users.

If this isn't your problem then it might be your SPV config or Oranges network being flakey.
