I've been charged for GPRS!

Here is an estimation of transfer of GPRS data for Pocket PC phone edition. The example is given by Bouygues Telecom, the third French operator.

http://www.internetpocket.bouyguestelecom.....fr/index2.html (French link)

Exemple for 10Mb/month (GPRS connection)

Cost: 6€ VAT

Typical example of use: 100 mails / months received or sent with attached file (20 Kb files) + 15 sessions / month (connection / disconnection) of 7 classic web pages (pages weighing approximately 70 Kb).

An unlimited GPRS subscription is really necessary for smartphone users. Orange wake up!!!!!

An unlimited GPRS subscription is available, it costs £8.00 per mb.

Hurrah!

Orange have come good one this one!

The reason I was charged for GPRS is because the SPV Promotional Pack went on a day later than I was told it would be, hence the first full day of my SPV usage was charged for, oops!

If anyone else has been charged, check in the service plan section of your bill, and see when the SPV Promotion Pack start date is - this could be the problem

Anyone considered this. If the connection is poor the SPV has to resend for data more frequently and Orange bills us for that data. So the worse the connection the more orange charges us for the privilige!

I might be wrong - but if the spv has to resend data - its probably because it didn't get through last time - and so presumably you won't get billed for it???

I just got my bill and have found I was put on the 0.5Mb GPRS bundle instead of the SPV GPRS promotion. I note from the orange site that buying the SPV meant you had to take the £6 p/m unlimited GPRS.

Looks like I need to get on the phone and complain ...

Right here goes..........I was originally connected to a GPRS connection via my 6310i on a current GPRS bundle......upgraded to the SPV and moved to the Promotional Pack............Got my first bill and it came in at 53 quid above normal for 10 days worth of use. Phoned orange billing and data and found out that if you change the package.......ie Normal GPRS bundle to Promotional Bundle it can take anything up to 10 days to kick in.......as I only had a 1mb limit on the 6310i......it didn;t take long to run that up and over...........just a warning but may explain a few large bills in the first month
