GET GOOD BATTERY LIFE, AT LAST !??!

I should point out, that I only use the charger unit on its own to charge the phone, without the cradle attachment which I only use for sync'ing. I don't know if this makes a difference considering the problems some people have noticed when charging via the cradle unit. :?:

Good luck

Well, I switched it off to charge last night.

How typical that the first time I switch my phone off at night in about six months is the first time anyone tries to contact me on it!

Turned it on this morning to find three SMS and a voicemail. Doh.

Its been off charge for an hour and a half, and its still showing 95% charge though...I'll post later to see how far it has drained by then.

i've tried another suggestion which is changing the homescreen timeout ot never. i'll see how that goes to day, then try charging it with the charger only tonite

Five hours, and its down to 82%. approx 3.6% per hour, so it looks like 27 hours is the best I can hope for.

:D

Not quite what I had hoped for!

Notice that the charging light stays on perminantly when you switch it off and charge but flashes when you leave it on a charge which indicates its charging intermittantly.Maybe it does charge better that way?

28 hours later and i've got the battery low warning message and i didn't even use the phone at all today. Overall pretty disappointed with the results. I just hope someone will produce a battery that lasts at least 3 days with average usage, 1 1/4 days life span on a recharge is just not gonna cut it, the bloody things gonna spend 3/4 of its life on recharge and the remainder of the time locking up.

I still love it though, my little movie /mp3 playing spv!

The problem now is that when there is a new battery it'll be like trying to buy the bloody phone all over again, demand out strips supply.

Of course maybe it won't be a problem and those wonderful Orange people will, in order of registration, admit the current battery is not as advertised and recall the current one and swap for free.

Ooops - I've just been hit by a flying piggy wiggy!! :D

I know its a cop out but I have ordered a USB cablecharger from of all places ebay.

My cradle stays at home and take the cable around with me.

Ok call me a madman but...

I have been on holiday the past month in cape town, south africa and my spv goes happily for three days + on one charge here. I dont make many phone calls but am texting a lot.

one major difference is there is no GPRS here, here is my uneducated suggestion......

even if you do not use GPRS at all, the fact that there is GPRS available will this suck the battery??

i travel back this weekend, but will do a full charge with the phone turned off tonight and see how many days i get

  • 1 month later...
