I assume the velcro is for a "quick release", so you can get the phone from hip to ear before it diverts to voicemail (assuming you haven't turned the volume down for a hidden game of Slurp during those loooong meetings!).

We use DECT phones at work, and those are on little black plastic clips - we get two broken phones back each month from people who have walked into doors / walls / plants / whatever....so my faith in detatchable cases isn't exactly proven.

Mind you...smart case or buried in a pocket....

This is unbelievable. Why the hell should they bother with producing a case for the SPV when the greater need is for an external keyboard device? :evil:

Says who? I don't need an external keyboard yet. Would much rather have a practical case (and yes, given that the SPV is such a sexy phone, the case needs to look better too, that is part of the reason!).

I can't get to the case, pop it and fumble the phone out safely to answer it before a call rings off. I get four and a bit rings, and no, I don't always wear the headset.

Don't get me wrong tho, when a nice cheap keyboard comes out I might get it. But I simply don't type so much stuff that I need one. Best option, as posted before, = neoprene wrapround keyboard case (although I fear that won't fit the headset and offer provision for camera...)
