Guest Chaser81 Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 Why when I press the "off" key on my Jam does it stop my music playing on Windows Media Player? Is there a way of keeping the music going whilst switching off the screen or at least disabling it?
Guest namiran Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 id like to know this too! how do i turn on the keylock and still enjoy my music??
Guest TigerNet Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 ...and stop it reactivating when a call comes in??
Guest Chaser81 Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 I read on another forum that you have to install another piece of software on the Jam to get it to do this (Screenlock or something), but surely there must be an easier way to do it?? I cant believe that Microsoft would leave out such an obvious feature?
Guest Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Have a look at: - http://phoneedition.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=98014
Guest TigerNet Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 ...have you tried this on the Jam yet? Which would be the 'left most' and 'right most' buttons? What happens when a call is started/ended? I'll look forward to your experiences... Cheers Nick

I cant believe that Microsoft would leave out such an obvious feature? There seems to be an endlesss amount of 'obvious features' which have been left out!
Guest Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 I don't have a need for this software, but saw in in another thread and thought it might be the answer.
Guest Underdog_2k Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 do you mean the screen toggle option? So that you can play music with your screen turnd off? You can do that in WMP when playing a file go to --> menu--> options---> buttons then last option is assing screen on/off togle assign a key and you're done..
Guest Underdog_2k Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 There seems to be an endlesss amount of 'obvious features' which have been left out! No, people should look better before posting
Guest Posted December 24, 2004 Report Posted December 24, 2004 Also found this software, in particular the Screensaver and Suspend Power Toys, which appears to turn off the screen and lock the buttons whilst leaving audio playing: - http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/PowerToys/ Haven't tried it yet but sone of these applications look very useful. Have a look at all the other applications on this site too - looks interesting: - http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/
Guest namiran Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 underdog2k...your tip doesnt seem to work for me, all it does is turns the screen off for a sec or so...?
Guest Underdog_2k Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 underdog2k...your tip doesnt seem to work for me, all it does is turns the screen off for a sec or so...? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It seems that my unit is diffrent (in a good way((for me))) :( the Imate jam doesn't have the same software as the mda compact. Asymetrical asked my to give him some file's the jam is missing. (no prob, gone do so maƱana). I can disable my screen in de WMP or if that doesn't work you can always try winamp for ppc (it looks like winamp but it isn't, confusing :) ) It also has an option to turn the screen off.
Guest namiran Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 seems you had right underdog2k, my fault was i set the key for turning of the screen to be "holding down Down button", when i changed this to the left button it worked as you said :)
