Guest martin Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Great work gglaspi I like the improvements and the added functions will make it much easier to write larger spreadsheets. I think this software is going to be very useful :D Thanks
Guest TKJ Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 (edited) Hi :P The new version is great :D Only problem I have is that it doesn't remember which language you chose. So you have to choose language every time you open the program. Also the translation under "Functions" isn't complete. This version implements following enhancements: Add functions Sum, Average, Number, Max, Min, Today, Now, Trigonometry. Function selector Application icone changed Possibility to clic on a file to open it lists the three last opened files Cell editing activates 123 mode as default Displays the opened file name in the title bar I specially like the calculation functions and that the 123 mode is activated Great work :D TKJ Edited February 4, 2005 by TKJ
Guest snap Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Your Spreadsheet for Smartphone is GREAT. What I have been looking for for quite a while now. Would it be possible to have the following changes? Even just for a different version than a 1.3, since I suppose you do not want these changes to be in the standard edition. I would need the following: 1. Having the first column on your left to have numbers from 0 to N (depending on the leght selected in the first screen) And most of all: 2. Being able to add the data to each cell straight away typing on the phone keyboeard, rather than having to press enter before entering the data. 2.1 Would it be possible to have the "abc" selected already, rather than the "123"? By which I mean, to be able to insert letters rather than numbers straight away. And not in the T9 format, but in the simple format. Please, let me know how long it would take you to have such modifications done. You can reach me at ricpansAThotmail.com Please, it would be very important to have this done. I would be free to donate something through PayPal. Thanks and please, let me know. Riccardo PS I am using the very last edition, which is 1.2
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Hi Gglaspi, this version is looking very good. Just a couple of points which make it difficult to use. Can we have an option to insert a row or column at the cursor position rather than at the very end :?: Lastly when I am trying to use formula's which refer to other cells its quite tedious to enter [2:2] as they all need to be selected from the symbols menu. What about having a special key or menu option that would let you use the joystick to highlight a cell, press action and for this cell reference to be inserted into the formula you are working on :?: Otherwise its fantastic, keep up the good work.
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 Hey guys, dont know if you have noticed but there is a 1.2 available for download. Click here
Guest confused and hungover Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 this is class..... just got version 1.2, i'll test it some on the train home tonight :D 8)
Guest dscline Posted April 10, 2005 Report Posted April 10, 2005 Hello, I just found this site in my search for a spreadsheet program for my mpx220. I'm quite thankful to have found this, but have a few questions. The author mentioned in a previous post to add the capability to work with Excel .xml files. I'm assuming that hasn't been added? I created one, but it wasn't seen by Spreadsheet SP. If that capability is still not present, how are you guys working with data in between your phone and computer? I don't have a LOT of experience with excel, so I may just be missing something: I finally figured out how to get excel to export the formulas instead of the answer, with the hopes of keeping the formulas working on the phone. But it still doesn't work, because excel references columns with letters, while Spreadsheet SP uses numbers to reference both the row AND the column. It seems like a simple chage in SP to referencing columns by letters would make it IMMENSELY easier to share spreadsheets between the phone & PC. Am I missing something here? Oh, and I definitely agree that an easier way to CREATE formulas within SP would be a huge help, such as clicking on cells to reference them instead of typing it out manually, and a menu-list of common operators instead of having to access them through the 1 key. All that being said, I'm WAY further than I was before I found this. Good work. :D

Guest dscline Posted April 10, 2005 Report Posted April 10, 2005 It seems like a simple chage in SP to referencing columns by letters would make it IMMENSELY easier to share spreadsheets between the phone & PC. Some quick thought has made me realise that perhaps the reason the column references are numbers instead of letters like excel, is because numbers are so much easier to enter on a phone instead of letters. However, the fact that the Spreadsheet SP format also requires brackets, any savings in not having to enter letters is lost (and then some) by having to enter two brackets AND a colon. Perhaps it could be made to recognize either format for a cell reference? In other words, give it the capability to recognize EITHER A1 or [1:1] as a cell reference in a formula? People could choose to enter what was easiest for them, and that would enable the ability to share spreadsheets between Spreadsheet SP and Excel AND have the formulas work in both locations.
Guest gglaspi Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 Hi guys, There seems to be some activity here. I'm sorry to be late in upgrading Spreadsheet SP. To be completely honnest, I currently do not have time to work on it as I just moved to Canada (from France) so you will understand I have some other things to think about for the moment. Be sure I will let you know here when some upgrades will be available. BTW : I still have in mind to implement xml Excel spreadsheets but this will be a very large amount of work !! Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 Hi GGLaspi, god to see you back. I have been using this quite a bit and it is very good, but there is a problem with big spreadsheets. If you create a sheet with say 10 rows, then when you are on the first row and press action to edit the cell, when you have finished editing the cell you are taken to the last row then you have to scroll all the way up to the first row, edit the next cell then when you finish editing you are taken to the last row again :D Look forward to the next version.
Guest spve200 Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 I installed the latest version. On the splash screen it says Spreadsheet SP (v1.0). Sorry about all the comments and suggestions but you did ask for feedback ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i trided that program it dident install on my smartphone this does http://www.westtek.com/smartphone/ but your not abel to make changes to the file but you ca see it sry for my english i'm from the netherlands
Guest dosei Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 (edited) I have the 1.2 version running on my mpx220. When I imported a spreadsheet from my computer to my phone, it became a .pxl file. Can I import spreadsheets to my phone using this software, and if so do I need to convert the file? Thanks. I noticed other apps on the DaysCount's website. I'm unable to read French, so I'm trying to figure out if I need to dl any other apps, such as the CSV Switcher. Any help is hugely appreciated. Edited June 22, 2005 by dosei
Guest nestul Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Nice app ;) For those interested, try PTab Spreadsheet from Z4Soft, a very powerfull one too. Z4Soft Link
