Guest Lojt Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 I like the new design very much, nice and smooth :D
Guest scottb Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 (edited) Kenny, No problem seeing/interpreting the icons. A few of them an appear to have some "haze" behind them. It's as if they were not cleaned up completely, but they are easy to use. In particular, they are the type of ring, the sound and the volume. Edited January 18, 2005 by scottb
Guest drblow Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 I'm not entirely sure I can see a 'haze' behind the icons, but I like them. Nice & ICandy-ish. & I kind of like the way they are slightly 'hazy'. I think infact, that the default notification icon stands out from the rest too much because it's very sharp in focus. I think they are easy to understand, although, I have been using the app for quite a while, so I dunno if a new user would feel the same way. There is one totally unrelated thing I have noticed recently that I would love to have ... on the list view, to have the clock showing in the top bar, instead of the alarm time. I can see the alarm time in the list, and it would be of more value to me to be able to see the time, for when I'm setting a timer or alarm. Just a thought ... :D
Guest xspyda Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Definite improvement - good work :D Just a quick point to note for a future release : When setting a recurring alarm, the list of days states 30st instead of 31st. Nice to see there is a 20th now though! Thanks for the quick fix.
Guest fozzie Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 (edited) The new design is great :D (I still have the problem though with alarms not snoozing; I hit snooze and the app closes. If I re-open the app it shows the next day's alarm but if I go to the list view it says snoozed. The alarm doesn't sound however after the snoozed interval. I've tried a complete uninstall, soft reset, re-install but still get the same.) Edited January 18, 2005 by fozzie
Guest yoos Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Installed... I like it! One of the best apps I've bought for my smartphone!
Guest nickcornaglia Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I like the new interface. very easy to use. But everytime upgrade the app, My alarms dont work. They go off visually, but do not sound. I need to uninstall everything then reinstall. A bit of a pain. I am answering the questions correctly when reinstalling, keeping the databases. Like I said, the alarms are still there...they just dont sound.

TBH, I don't recall if I did this (may have), but maybe it's necessary to change the directory in the options after an upgrade... Maybe it deletes this setting???
Guest fozzie Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 ... but maybe it's necessary to change the directory in the options after an upgrade... Maybe it deletes this setting??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You do; it's always done this.
Guest kennyg Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 You do; it's always done this. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've got to figure out a way around this, but the problem is mostly that the smartphone FORCES you to uninstall before an install, and in general, you are now allowed to leave anything around afterwards upon uninstalling if you want to be a certified application. This wasn't the case on the Pocket PC which is where a lot of my settings code was inherited from. I am going to work on doing something before I do the final release, it should have minimal impact but a lot of benefit for you beta testers!!! Thanks! Kenny.
Guest kennyg Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 I bought CityTime Alarms 3 weeks ago, just after I got my SPV, and use it everyday to wake me up for work. The main improvement I would request is that the phone screen backlight and keypad lights are lighted up when the alarm goes off. Makes it easier to snooze when the alarm goes off at 5:30 in the morning! Kennyg, perhaps you could add this feature to your excellent forms interface to select as an option... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've been looking for a way to do this for a while now, there is no supported way to do this at the moment, so I will likely have do so something like fake some touchpad input to make this work... I will try this weekend. Kenny.

Guest GOS Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 (edited) Kenny, since I installed version 1.1.0 of CityTime Alarms my alarms don't run off as long as the Inbox (tmail.exe) is runníng in the background. As soon as tmail.exe is not running (or not running anymore - I do this with SP Task Manager's "Kill process") the alrms are running off, even those passed. Any ideas? Kind regards, Gerd Edited January 23, 2005 by GOS
Guest FrankyG Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Hi, I've got v1.1.0 installed and all seems to work well, nice improvements. Just one thing, and it purely a personal preference - I would like the 'dismiss' and 'snooze' soft keys to be switched! I tend to find myself using the left softkey 'dismiss' button when I really want to snooze..and the inevitable sleep in follows. I can't seem to program my brain to press the right soft key when I wake up...(wake up used *very* loosely!) Anyone else hit the wrong button?!
Guest fozzie Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I did for a long time but then got used to it. I do agree that my personal preference would be to have them the other way around :D (Although I don't use snooze that much at the moment as I'm having issues with repeating alarms not snoozing :D)
Guest yoos Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Just curious what the latest version is to ensure I have it... I don't see any mention of the current version on the site: http://codecity.net/prodctasp.htm
