Guest Lingerhosen
Chaps/Chapesses, I've been looking at all the options open to me as my E200 contract is up. When looking at the Blue Angel type devices (?), the T-mobile version is virtually free on a really low tariff (albeit for 18 months not 12...) from onestopphoneshop who I've used before. Is there something obvious that I'm missing as the other variants aren't, or is this just how it is? Is this worth doing as the i-mate Jam seems a distant and expensive dream (if ever!) on Orange, so I want some alternatives.. :| Your learned opinions would be much appreciated! Guest Chaser81
I read somewhere (cant remember where now - sorry) that the MDA III wasnt exactly the same as the other "blue angel" phones and that it was missing some of the functionality compared to the M2000/XDA IIs. I think I read it on Infosync World.

With no estimate of when they're going to get it in. They were also cheeky enough to have already charged me for the phone. Still considering whether to tell them to cancel and give me my money back... Guest Pondrew
Oh, and aren't I right that we can probably (somehow!) flash the MDA with the M2000 rom and viseversa?
Guest Chaser81
Just had another look at the review for the MDA III on Infosync world.. I must have been dreaming it, the specs are exactly the same! Never mind doddering old me!
Guest Pondrew
I don't think you were totally wrong Chaser81. The battery if I'm not mistaken is lower capacity hence will last less time in the MDA III. Also it doesn't come with a spare like the SPV M2000 does... Guest Lingerhosen
God, you're not having much luck changing phones are you Monsieur Pondrew! I take it that the offer was the best you found as well... Just wish I knew when, if and what price the Jam was going to be on Orange! My brother happens to have just got an XDA II today (wthout my prior consultation !) and I have to say it was pretty cool, so I am definitely being swayed to the PPC world. Sigh... decisions decisions...
Guest Pondrew
Lingerhosen: Finally got the MDA III today. It's charging as we speak so I'll update you when I can...
Guest Lingerhosen
Cool... On the off-chance, went into the T-Mobile shop in Sheffield yesterday. Asked him about the MDA Compact. He just kept grunting and pointing at the picture or the MDA III,which he wanted to charge me £100 for. I tried to explain that it was going to be released on his network but I don't think I was getting through! I made my excuses and left... :D
Guest Chaser81
In the salesperson's defense, most of the time, we dont hear about newer models such as the MDA Compact until right before they are released! The only reason I know about it is cause I am a member of this site!
Guest Lingerhosen
No.....EXCUSES..... Don't give me your 'Jive Talk' soldier!!.... Now drop and give me twenty!! :D *pauses* Hmmm... does this post sound less like a drill instructor and more like some kind of homoerotic fiction? (Whatever that might be) I'm not gay or 'owt. ANYhow, I was just a bit miffed by the sales patter and his inability to listen to what I was saying really, besides I only wanted to see one, as I'm sure it will be cheaper off t'internet anyway. OSPS seems to be on a bit of a roll recently. Plus they have the M2000 for £9.99 on a OVP400 which is do-able for a few months. If they've actually got any stock that is! Come in and ask all the questions, tie us up for half an hour, taking us away from real customers, get us to demo the handset in every which way and then bugger off and buy it from the internet! Dude, dont ever come into my shop, I'll kick your ass!! :D Edited January 23, 2005 by Chaser81
Guest Lingerhosen
Don't forget man, we're all customers in an Holistic fashion, look to the Universe and the bigger picture man... *Points to the ceiling, waits until everyone else looks up and then dissapears; stage left* [-o;)
