I've just upgraded from mpx200 to c500 but I must be doing something wrong - i am going into the Orange folder - into caller id - choosing a contact - assigning a photograph - pressing done - assigning a template - pressing done - getting calls but no pic only white screen and orange bar - whats happening - Im doing everything as the orange manual says.

Is there a problem with the software.

Also - whats up with the keypad lights - they seem to randomly light up ?

I'm having exactly the same problems with mine, is this a common fault or is there a setting for the lights? Also is there an option to turn on the caller photos as tried looking through manual and its pretty useless tbh

I believe the numbers have to be stored in international format (+44 and no leading 0 for UK numbers) for this to work.

Works fine for me (I use full screen pictures rather than the templates provided).

That's true, but I don't think the inbuilt Caller ID software is all that clever.

It may be a problem with storing the PITs and images on the storage card. Recently most of my incoming calls have thrown up the picture of an ex-girlfriend of mine which has been somewhat confusing despite the fact that the incoming numbers all have their own pictures & templates assigned. If I let the phone ring a couple more times it will usually find the right images.

I'm thinking of finding alternative Caller ID software.

The international number format didnt work - I have my pictures stored on my memory card - I will change this to the default folder and see what happens. What I dont understand is the set as default section - where you can assign an unknown photo , default photo etc.

The folder on your storage card has to be named 'IA_Caller ID Photos' I think, the same name as the one on the phone.

Re keypad lights, they only turn on when it is dull or dark, wont turn on when it is bright enough to see the keypad. Little light sensor onder the 0 ket controls this and screen brightness - a battery saving solution.

And it usually come up when your hand/finger covers up the light sensor!

ok...i heard your probs about caller id...i heard some other people talking about this...it seems that everybody has this problem...except me... i don't have +40(my country code) in front of the numbers...

i heard another explanation witch seems logic...if u have the same phone numbers stored on the sim card and on the phone caller id is confused so it doesn't know what to display... hope this helps...i have em in phone only...

so if i change my numbers to international format and remove the duplicates of the sim and move the pictures to the caller ID folder it might work.

Im liking the orange strip even more now!!

Are you using the in-built app to get full screen caller id photo's ? If so, care to share how you managed this?

Oh and to keep it on topic, I have heard also that storing a number twice (in whatever format) can play havoc with the caller ID function!

Cheers!
