Guest Belgarath Krall Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 Digging around on the Winamp.com site, strangely enough, I found 2 programs for remote controlling your playlists, Powerpoint and your computer from your bluetooth (BT) enabled smartphone (with BT dongle as well, which I am sadly lacking at the moment, apologies for not testing fully) Epitech - link and another that claims the ability to use GPRS for remote control via a Java client/server based program (note the 10-15kb/min of operation that this mentions in the literature) PuppetMaster - link I have not tested PuppetMaster, but a small test of the Epitech remote appears to not use Activesync as the Ruttensoft remote does (forum link here) PuppetMaster Screenshot Epitech Screenshot
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 And i thought i was the only one with this kinda concept? Well add Smart Commander to this list too :D it does use Active sync at this point but this might change soo.... :D and though i didn't try these applications yet Smart Commander has it's own great features :P
Guest nedge2k Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 Also add PTvncS :D Will remotely display anything on the pc and let you control it via gprs or bt :D
Guest Belgarath Krall Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 am in utter shock - i got something on the front page of modaco! wow, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! :D got my bt dongle today and the epitech program still crashes, sent the developer some info so hopefully that will help him out a bit
Guest Slsk-addict Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 Proper link for Puppetmaster I haven't been able to get it to work yet. Problems with ports and so on. Does anyone have anny ideas? grtz
Guest Slsk-addict Posted March 13, 2005 Report Posted March 13, 2005 Sorry ultimasnake, but Puppetmaster rules :D
Guest Mehka Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 I got it working, set the port on the pc program of puppetmaster the same as the port you use on activesync. get kill activesync here: http://www.mydesktophelp.com/development.php kill active sync ;) start puppetmaster on the pc, on your phone, and voila!
Guest Mehka Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 it sucks though, you cant use your pc's internet connection because you have to shutdown activesync.
