Guest adsdl Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 Sorry if this has been answered before - I couldn't find the answer when searching. I followed the instruction book and put all the ring tones in a new Storage>>Sounds folder. This didn't work. I eventually put some in the top level Windows folder which showed up in the normal Settings>>Sounds section however there is limited space allowed. I then moved a bunch of tracks, primarily .wma files to my storage card. However I can't use any of them as Custom Ring Tones per contact. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Why doesn't the storage>>sounds folder work and how do I add Custom Ring Tones? Sorry again and thanks for any help in advance.
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 Welcome to the forum :D You can't use storage card files for Custom Ringtones. See this thread : http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=118015 On the phone itself, the folder you need to put them in is \Storage \Application Data \Sounds. Anything in the Windows directory gets rewritten on reboot.

Guest Disco Stu Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 A Custom Ringtone is set for an individual Contact. That way you can tell who is calling just by the ringtone the phone is playing. If you edit a Contact you will see the option lower down the page.
Guest Griff_FFOC Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 I was trying this the other day on my C500. I tried saving a wmv and a mid file into the storage card, storage card/my documents, storage/app data/sounds and also the windows folder where the existing sounds are, and I just could not get anything to list in the custom ringtone setting. I was about to ask where to put them, and what format when I saw this thread. Cheers Griff
