Guest niceguymr Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 (edited) SEE ETA BELOW I bought an MPX220 unlocked because I was told it had the latest firmware revision. I'm having a few minor technical difficulties and I'm starting to wonder if I got duped into buying one of the old ones. START SETTINGS ABOUT and this is what it says... Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Version 4.21.1088 (Build 14315.1.1.2) Radio Version 1.00 c 1996-2004 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. Available Storage: 23.61 MB Total Storage: 32.49 MB Available Memory: 2.86MB Total Memory: 21.55MB Processor: ARMV4 OMAP1611 ROM update versions: Operator 0.250.1003.0 Manufacturer: 1.30.0.0 Microsoft: 4.21.14315.0 Language: 0.150.0.0 File System: 4.21.14315.0 I don't understand any of this stuff. Do I have the right one?? How do I tell if this is the latest firmware revision? If it is the old version, what should I do? Can I get it updated and how do I do that? EDITED TO ADD: I just read this post on another forum. KNOW YOUR MOTOROLA HARDWARE VERSION This seems to provide yet another way to verify your hardware. Yes, I said HARDWARE. Is this completely different from the FIRMWARE isssue? After performing the required steps, I verified that my HARDWARE is up to date. I have no idea if this is going to make a difference. Guest el_nino Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 I bought my Mpx220 in Norway, and here is what standing on my about page, about ROM updates. Operator 0.300.4050.0 Manufacturer: 1.150.0.0 Microsoft: 4.21.14315.0 Language: 0.2.3.0 File System: 4.21.14315.0 I wonder if there is a newer firmware for my phone?
Guest arogntbastrd Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 The firmware version is the one where it says manufacturer. For cingular phones 1.3 is the latest. Some people have higher ones, like 1.7 but from what I've read it's because they got them from motorola or somewhere else but they are essentially the same
