I bought an MPX220 unlocked because I was told it had the latest firmware revision. I'm having a few minor technical difficulties and I'm starting to wonder if I got duped into buying one of the old ones.

I don't understand any of this stuff. Do I have the right one?? How do I tell if this is the latest firmware revision?

If it is the old version, what should I do? Can I get it updated and how do I do that?

EDITED TO ADD:

I just read this post on another forum. KNOW YOUR MOTOROLA HARDWARE VERSION

This seems to provide yet another way to verify your hardware. Yes, I said HARDWARE. Is this completely different from the FIRMWARE isssue? After performing the required steps, I verified that my HARDWARE is up to date. I have no idea if this is going to make a difference.

The firmware version is the one where it says manufacturer. For cingular phones 1.3 is the latest. Some people have higher ones, like 1.7 but from what I've read it's because they got them from motorola or somewhere else but they are essentially the same
