Sniping is using an automated tool to place your bid on an item in the dying seconds of an auction, thereby reducing the chances of being outbid. If by "the eBay experience" you mean getting stuck in bidding wars, and paying more than you have to to win an item then I say... Good ridance to the eBay experience!
