so I go through the processes, you are updating to this, it identifies the phone, closes activesync, shows the update screen on the pc, and the c500 just shows the bootloader screen. :?:

I then repeatedly get a 264 error. Can anyone help?

I have received an error message while running the SPV C500 update?

You may see an error while running the update. If this happens, please check that:

The USB cable is plugged directly into a main USB port on your PC, not into a USB hub.

The AC adapter is switched on and plugged into the SPV C500 correctly.

The internal battery is fully charged.

Remove your SPV C500 from the USB cable.

Remove the battery and wait 30 seconds.

Replace the battery.

Press and hold the Camera key located on the side of the SPV C500 in the upper right when looking at the front of the SPV C500.

Whilst holding down the Camera key, press and release the Power button located on the side of the SPV C500 in the upper left when looking at the front of the SPV C500.

Wait 5 seconds.

You should see first a white screen, then a multicoloured screen.

Now plug the SPV C500 into the USB cable, and re-run the update

still get a 264 error after trying that.

That thing with the AC adapter is rubbish.

Try the following:

1. Power off the phone.

2. Keep the camera button pressed (with the phone powered off) and plug it into the USB. The phone will start with the 3-colours screen.

3. At this point run the ROM update program on PC.

Other things to consider:

- Make sure you plug the phone in a primary USB port, not in a hub.

- If running on a laptop, maybe consider connecting it to the mains and unplugging other USB devices that may draw power.
