Guest bolasz Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 I've been using imap for quite a while now with e200, c500 and now jam just to mention the windows ones. For me everything works fine, only as said above the messages are moved to deleted items instead of being purged. I had though the same problem as you on 3 occassions. Once the server had gone mad for a while, on the other 2 my phone. I simply deleted the account and set it up again.
Guest Pagemakers Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 as a metter of interest are you using an exchange server?
Guest bolasz Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 as a metter of interest are you using an exchange server? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me? No, it's a plain imap4 server.
Guest oklona Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 I have also seen this behavior, and my IMAP server is a regular Courier server based on Maildir. Therefore, I see mail database corruption as extremely unlikely. I upgraded to the newest ROM version on my Qtek 8010 about a week ago, and the problem is still there. As was said originally, you download mail, do a delete, perform a send/receive, and the mail is gone. However, on the next send/receive, voila, it is back! Ole Kristian
Guest jbuberel Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 I am currently seeing the exact same problem (IMAP messages deleted on Smartphone are not deleted on IMAP server). I am using WM5.0 (Moto Q) with Courier mail server v0.52.2. I will continue searching for a workable solution. I have also resorted to Moving items to my Inbox.Trash folder. My serve is configured to remove messages older than 3 days from that folder, so I do not have the problem of accumulating large numbers of messages in that folder. This is definitely a kludge. -jason
